In 2018, NTUC Health initiated an SAP S/4 HANA implementation for ERP Financial across the organization. The program centralized financial processes and governance for a finance organization of 30 professionals spanning Finance Operations, Financial Planning and Analysis FP&A, Grants Management and Centralised Billing. The project followed an aggressive nine month implementation timeline and launched in January 2019.
The SAP S/4 HANA deployment encompassed core ERP Financial capabilities including automated purchase to pay workflows, inventory management, grants tracking and centralised billing. A parallel pilot targeted financial reporting and planning on SAP Business Intelligence BI and SAP Business Planning and Consolidation BPC, both of which were moved into production in February 2019.
Architecturally the solution implemented a transactional data flow from SAP S/4 HANA to BPC and BI systems, establishing a one source of truth database that combined financial and business data elements to preserve data integrity for decision making. Integrations were explicitly configured with HR systems and dental clinic systems to align payroll and service revenue data with the central finance ledger.
Governance included enterprise level rollout oversight and a pilot to validate planning and consolidation workflows before full production cutover, while finance leadership assumed operational control of process orchestration across affected functions. The program documented operational efficiencies including annualised productivity savings of 800 hours as part of the implemented automation for purchase to pay, inventory and grants processes.

| SAP | Legacy | SAP BusinessObjects | Analytics and BI | Analytics and BI | n/a | 2018 | 2019 |
In 2018 NTUC Health deployed SAP BusinessObjects as a pilot for financial reporting and planning within its Analytics and BI estate. The SAP BusinessObjects pilot was run alongside a broader SAP S4/HANA program and targeted consolidated financial reporting and forecasting capabilities for the finance organization.
The implementation focused on core analytics and planning capabilities, using SAP BusinessObjects for reporting and SAP Business Planning and Consolidation BPC for budgeting and forecasting. Functional scope included financial reporting, planning and forecasting workflows, and data model consolidation, while proposed process automations targeted purchase to pay, inventory management, grants tracking and centralized billing.
Architecturally the effort established a data pipeline from S4/HANA into BusinessObjects and BPC, with the project lead designing the flow of transactional data to create a single source of truth that combined financial and business data elements. Integrations explicitly included the SAP ERP S4/HANA source and planned connections to HR and dental clinic systems to ensure unified reporting across operational and clinical data domains.
Operational governance covered the finance organization directly, with oversight of a 30 person finance team spanning Finance Operations, FP&A, Grants Management and Centralised Billing, and the pilot transitioned into live systems in early 2019 with SAP S4/HANA launching in January 2019 and BusinessObjects and BPC going live in February 2019. The implementation team reported annualised productivity savings of 800 hours and emphasized improved data integrity through the single source of truth design.
