In 2014, ONE Gas implemented Oracle E-Business Suite as its core ERP Financial application to consolidate enterprise financial operations. The Oracle E-Business Suite deployment focused on the Oracle E-Business Financials Suite modules, specifically Accounts Receivable, Cash Management, Accounts Payable, and Projects, with configuration and support exposure to Inventory, Purchasing, and General Ledger functionality.
The implementation included Accounts Payable automation using MarkView and Perceptive Capture, and ongoing PL/SQL development to extend Oracle E-Business Suite workflows and interfaces. Oracle E-Business Suite configuration work covered transaction processing, reconciliations, and project accounting flows, while Perceptive Intelligent Capture and Perceptive Content ImageNow were used for OCR and document imaging integration.
Integrations were established between Oracle E-Business Suite and third party systems, notably CSC RiskMaster for claims management and PowerPlan for project accounting, with explicit budget and work order interfaces to PowerPlan, Maximo, and C55. Support extended to custom VB applications that interfaced with the ERP Financial systems, ensuring data exchange across project accounting and asset maintenance processes.
Governance and operational control were managed through project management for new implementations and system upgrades, and participation in Enterprise Architecture and Data Analytics Governance committees. The implementation centered on stabilizing financial processing and inter-system interfaces, aligning Oracle E-Business Suite with corporate finance, project accounting, and claims workflows.

In 2013, ONE Gas implemented Copperleaf Asset Investment Planning & Management as part of an enterprise wide program to centralize asset management across three separate distribution companies. The Copperleaf Asset Investment Planning & Management deployment was positioned inside the Asset Performance Management category to unify investment decision making and align asset management with corporate risk objectives.
The implementation delivered the Copperleaf Decision Analytics solution configured to support an investment lifecycle management business process, including formal stage gate approvals. Functional capabilities implemented included development of a long term 10 plus year investment planning capability, a value framework to quantify investment priorities, and an automated risk modeling feature designed to accommodate a large volume of assets.
Copperleaf partnered with Accenture to design the business process and to implement integrations with other company systems to feed decision analytics and planning workflows. Operational coverage spanned the three distribution operations in different states, bringing asset investment planning and risk modeling into a centralized process used by asset management and planning teams.
Governance changes focused on establishing consistent, transparent asset investment decision making across the organization using stage gate approvals and the Copperleaf Decision Analytics solution. The program produced a standardized long term investment planning practice and an automated, risk informed value framework to demonstrate that ONE Gas is effectively managing asset risk.
