| SAP | Legacy | SAP S/4HANA Cloud | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2018 | 2018 |
In 2018, Partners Group deployed SAP S/4HANA Cloud as its ERP Financial solution in the public cloud. The Sirius program initiated a phased cloud rollout, bringing the first three subsidiaries live on the new standard system and scheduling a systematic rollout across all 19 subsidiaries by the end of the year.
The implementation concentrated on core functional streams for financial accounting, human resources, and travel and expense management, aligning those business functions to SAP S/4HANA Cloud standard configurations. Project design emphasized adopting standard process models and excluding non-standard exceptions, reducing bespoke functionality and steering configuration toward proven cloud workflows.
Architecturally the deployment used public cloud tenancy to centralize corporate processes across Partners Group entities, with the Sirius architecture organized around SAP S/4HANA Cloud together with SAP SuccessFactors and SAP Concur as the three main software streams. Integrations were scoped to link the cloud ERP financial ledgers with HR and travel and expense processes under a coordinated programmatic approach, with SAP Switzerland providing consulting and implementation support.
Governance for Sirius prioritized process standardization and executive sponsorship from the Group vice president for technology, with configuration rules that disallowed bespoke functions from the outset. Rollout governance followed a phased subsidiary by subsidiary schedule, and change management emphasized rethinking and adapting existing processes rather than preserving them exactly as before.
By mid 2018 the initial subsidiaries were operational on SAP S/4HANA Cloud and the program was positioned to extend the ERP Financial footprint across the group to support growth, integrate systems more closely, and optimize risk management. Partners Group framed the move to public cloud ERP as a deliberate opportunity to adapt processes and align with a proven standard.

Configuration work emphasized core employee master data, organizational management, user and role management, and HR reporting capabilities within SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central. The implementation included security configuration, structured testing and QA cycles, and defined maintenance and change control workflows managed by Digital HR Application Specialists.
Integrations were explicitly scoped into Partners Group's SAP application landscape, with operational interfaces to SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud, Concur for expense and travel data flows, and SAP Analytics Cloud and BI tools for HR reporting and analytics. Integration management and data exchange governance were executed by the application team, supporting cross‑functional HR and finance data consistency.
Governance was centralized under the Head Finance Applications and Digital HR, who oversaw a combined team that included five Digital HR Application Specialists and an international group of application and master data specialists. Accountabilities within the governance model included application maintenance and support, project planning and steering committee participation, licensing and contract management, KPI reporting, stakeholder liaison, and risk and compliance coordination with Legal and Internal Controls.
Operational scope covered worldwide user support, onboarding and training, incident handling, system monitoring, security management, and quarterly release coordination and testing. Ongoing execution emphasized close coordination with SAP support and with adjacent product teams to sustain integrations and ensure continuous HR serviceability.

| SAP | Legacy | SAP Concur Travel | Travel Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2019 | 2019 |
In 2019, Partners Group implemented SAP Concur Travel as its Travel Management platform. The deployment established SAP Concur Travel as the companys cloud travel and expense backbone, with an identified application owner responsible for day to day operations and support for an installed user base reported at up to 1500 users.
Configuration work centered on expense policy implementation and operational role configuration, with the Concur Expense Admin configuring policy controls and approval workflows to enforce corporate expense rules. The implementation included a dedicated interface for HR master data ingestion to ensure accurate employee and approver mappings within the travel and expense process.
Integrations explicitly implemented included HR master data feeds tied into the Concur environment, and a parallel SAP SuccessFactors integration pipeline using Integration Center into the internal data warehouse via SQL, enabling consistent employee attribute distribution across systems. The SAP Concur Travel implementation sat alongside technical ownership of Compliance and Risk applications, reinforcing cross functional data requirements between finance, HR, and compliance.
Governance for the application was run with release management and application ownership responsibilities, including monitoring quality and stability of the development and support process and iterative, agile driven feedback loops to refine requirements and deployments. Operational scope included finance and HR business functions, with the Concur deployment acting as the reference Travel Management system within Partners Groups application portfolio.
