In 2018 Pepco Poland implemented Oracle Retail Merchandising System as part of a new ERP project, applying the Oracle Retail MOM and Oracle Fusion Suite in a cloud configuration. The initiative targeted core Retail Management capabilities, centralizing merchandising and merchandise operations for the retailer across its Polish organization.
The implementation focused on merchandising and merchandise operations management functionality provided by Oracle Retail Merchandising System and Oracle Retail MOM, with configuration work addressing assortment management, item master governance, pricing workflows, purchase order and replenishment processes, and inventory management patterns typical of the Retail Management category. The project leveraged Fusion Suite services to support transactional processing and master data consistency across merchandising modules.
Deployment was executed as a cloud-based implementation of Oracle Retail MOM together with Oracle Fusion Suite, positioning merchandising services and master data in a centralized cloud architecture. Architecture decisions emphasized standardization of merchandising workflows and a single source of merchandising truth, consistent with one of the first cloud implementations of these Oracle retail components in Europe.
Program governance and rollout were managed with a PMO Business Analyst role that led requirement definition, configuration governance, testing coordination and phased adoption across merchandising teams and store operations. The PMO function enforced traceability and change control during rollout, aligning business processes to the Oracle Retail Merchandising System and the broader Retail Management objectives.
