In 2016, PetroMaint implemented IBM Maximo as its Enterprise Asset Management platform. The IBM Maximo deployment targeted asset, maintenance and material management capabilities and used Maximo releases from Maximo 5 through Maximo 7.6.
Implementation work included PetroMaint's internally developed Maintenance and Material Management application alongside IBM Maximo core modules. Functional scope emphasized work order and preventive maintenance workflows, asset registry and hierarchy configuration, materials and inventory control, and inspection logging, aligned with Enterprise Asset Management functional terminology.
Operational coverage focused on PetroMaint maintenance operations in Alexandria Governorate, Egypt, with coordination across maintenance, technical support and implementation services teams. The project incorporated facility inspections, management of contractor and service provider relationships, and coordination with customers and subcontractors for technical support and implementation activities.
Governance and rollout activities included preparation of technical proposals, analysis of customer business and technical requirements, and active participation in tender negotiations and clarifications. Program leadership by the Maintenance Management Software Implementation Section Head emphasized development and enforcement of maintenance procedures, leadership and coaching of software staff, daily maintenance log keeping, and oversight of contractor and sub-contractor coordination during the rollout.
