SAP Legacy SAP ERP ECC 6.0 ERP Financial ERP n/a 2012 2012
In 2012, Petron Corporation implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 to serve ERP Financial functions across its finance and accounting organization in the Philippines. The deployment established SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as the enterprise financial backbone for general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, asset accounting, controlling, and statutory financial reporting workflows. Configuration and solutioning work was led by in‑house IT Specialists who conducted business process analysis, configured off‑the‑shelf SAP ERP ECC 6.0 components to meet proponent requirements, and produced technical specifications for extensions. The IT Specialist role explicitly included developing programs to address functional gaps and acting as techno functional experts, reflecting a governance model that couples configuration ownership with targeted custom development. Operational coverage focused on finance and accounting business functions, with IT Specialist responsibilities spanning requirement analysis, application configuration, and technical delivery to support corporate accounting and site finance teams. SAP ERP ECC 6.0 was reiterated as the selected application driving core financial controls and transactional accounting processes. Staffing and governance requirements emphasized technical competence, requiring candidates to hold a bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or computer engineering, and to possess at least three years of hands on experience with SAP ECC 6.0 as a techno functional expert. This staffing standard reinforced centralized configuration governance and a process for handling software gaps through specification driven development.

SAP Legacy SAP HCM Benefits Benefits Administration HCM n/a 2012 2012
In 2012, Petron Corporation implemented SAP HCM Benefits as part of a broader SAP HCM deployment supporting three operating companies of Petron Malaysia. The SAP HCM Benefits implementation addressed Benefits Administration within Human Resources and was executed alongside Payroll and PA/OM module work for the three companies formerly operating as Exxon-Mobil Downstream. The engagement focused on developing and configuring PA/OM and Benefits module requirements, including eligibility and enrollment workflows, benefit record configuration, and payroll interface alignment consistent with SAP HCM Benefits capabilities. The project team documented configuration manuals and developed test scripts to support client acceptance testing and to formalize configuration baselines. Integrations were explicitly implemented between the Benefits module, Payroll, and PA/OM to ensure master data and payroll posting consistency across the three Petron Malaysia entities. The scope included end-user training, creation of an end-user guide, and ongoing support to troubleshoot SAP HR issues for functional users and HR operations teams. Delivery and governance activities included assisting the team lead in configuration decisions, executing test plans for client acceptance, and providing structured end-user support and training during the October 2011 to July 2013 project window. Operational coverage was centered on HR, payroll, and benefits administration processes across the three Malaysian companies, with configuration and testing artifacts retained to support ongoing HR operations.

SAP Legacy SAP ERP ECC 6.0 - Plant Maintenance (PM) Plant Maintenance ERP Services and Operations n/a 2012 2012
In 2012 Petron Corporation implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 - Plant Maintenance (PM) to centralize maintenance planning and execution at its Limay refinery in Bataan Philippines. The SAP ERP ECC 6.0 - Plant Maintenance (PM) implementation sits squarely in the Plant Maintenance category and was used to support routine maintenance, unit turnaround planning, and emergency shutdown coordination. Configuration work focused on standard Plant Maintenance capabilities, including maintenance planning and scheduling, work order and turnaround job scope definition, equipment bill of materials creation, spare parts master data entry, and KPI reporting for routine maintenance. The implementation supported creation of OPEX and CAPEX purchase requisitions through SRM shopping carts and tracked materials and spare parts against equipment BOMs in the PM module. Operationally the system was integrated with the company procurement workflow, with planners creating SAP SRM shopping carts and coordinating with suppliers and contractors to fulfill maintenance and repair contracts. Maintenance, procurement, and warehouse functions were linked through SAP ECC PM material tracking and inventory monitoring, enabling planners to monitor ordered materials and critical warehouse stock levels for the Limay site. Governance and process changes emphasized planner driven scheduling and turnaround governance, with weekly routine schedules issued to area maintenance supervisors, active resource adjustments during execution, consolidation and monitoring of maintenance budgets for routine and turnaround activities, and a dedicated turnaround planner role during unit turnarounds. The implementation supported structured workflows for job scope preparation, cost estimation, project implementation, monitoring and closeout as part of the plant maintenance operating model.
