Founded in 1991 by Anthony Preston, Pets at Home is the pet retailer with over 400 stores across the UK and 6,000 employees. The company sells products including food, toys, bedding, medication, accessories, and pets.
Scope and Challenges
Pets at Home is leveraging SAP Enterprise Support, Cloud Edition, to help to become a digital enterprise. In 2017, their digitalization begins through SAP Success Plans. Pets at Home has made the move to streamline its promotions management onto one single technology platform, to keep pace with its recent growth story.
The company migrated from a legacy database to latest SAP S/4HANA technology, including hardware vendor selection.
Outcome and Implications
In January 2016 they deployed SAP’s Promotions Management for Retail (PMR) software. The new promotions management solution will enable Pets at Home to consistently manage promotional activity across all channels by providing a single system of record along with the management of vendor funds and rebates, deals, offer management and best practice promotions execution.
Also, the SAP PMR application will help Pets at Home to effectively manage their promotional activity across their store, web, grooming and veterinary practice channels.
After additionally, implementation of On-Premise SAP HCM and Payroll solutions, in 2016, delivering HR and payroll services to 7500 employees, Pets at Home decided to move to SAP SuccessFactors cloud solution in late 2017.
"Our current processes are manual and have evolved over time. SAP PMR will enable us to drive promotional best practice into our business." - said Dan Harvey, Pets at Home SAP Programme Director.
"We have SAP payroll and SAP HR on-premise but we've decided to move to SuccessFactors in the cloud. On the retail side, we are looking at our omnichannel so we want to ensure that our customers can order products anytime, from anywhere, be it at home or in-store, so it's a seamless customer journey" - said Anne Mills, Project Manager for the SuccessFactors rollout at Pets at Home.
