In 2016, The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as its ERP Financial application. The deployment targeted core finance and procurement operations across the Port Authority and the PATH rail operation, operating within an ECC 6.0 environment and supporting the organization that oversees regional bridges, tunnels, airports, and seaports.
Implementation work centered on the Materials Management module, with configuration and customization of organizational units, storage types, warehouse numbers, and storage bins. The team resolved functional flows from contract to invoice for PANYNJ and PATH, configured different stock types, and implemented the interface of Inventory Management to Warehouse Management to align physical inventory and warehouse processes with ECC 6.0.
Technical development included creation of a custom program to generate physical inventory documents that accommodate PATHs use of multiple storage bins sourced from a custom table ZBIN rather than the standard MARD storage bin, with the program scheduled to print physical inventory on the first of every month via a background job. Additional deliverables included ALV reports and object oriented ALV utilities, a delivery document report leveraging LIKP and LIPS tables, and an open sales orders ALV that accepts sales organization, sold to party, material number, customer purchase order number, and sales order creation date as inputs.
Operational and governance activity was led by a project manager working with a ten person team, coordinating clients, end users, and offshore resources, mentoring IT support staff, and managing vendor and SAP related IT work. Solution Manager enhancements were implemented to improve issue handling, including adding string search to filter issues and appending issue priority to email subjects to strengthen support workflows and incident governance.

In 2019, The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey implemented Sterling Background Check as part of its BackGround Screening tooling to support talent acquisition and HR hiring workflows. The Sterling Background Check deployment was positioned to manage candidate screening lifecycle activities used by recruiters who operated PeopleSoft, Talemetry, and LinkedIn Recruiter for sourcing and offer workflows.
Sterling Background Check was configured to drive standard background screening workflows, including candidate disclosure and consent orchestration, verification tasking, adjudication queues, and status updates that feed hiring pipelines. Configuration work emphasized automated screening stages and audit trails consistent with BackGround Screening functional patterns, while maintaining recordkeeping necessary for public sector compliance and auditability.
Operational coverage included the Talent Acquisition function, a population of roughly 700 people managers, and hiring activity across multiple facilities referenced in recruiting programs. Governance and process controls were enforced through a centralized SharePoint repository for recruitment process improvements, a standardized applicant ranking system using score-banding, and a query-based approach to measure applicant pool diversity at each disposition stage.
Process validation was exercised through a recurring quarterly Sterling background audit to assess completion of background checks for new employees, reflecting an operational governance cadence for screening compliance. Sterling Background Check was therefore embedded as the BackGround Screening control point within the Port Authority hiring lifecycle, supporting HR and TA workflows and regular auditability.

| Siemens | Legacy | Siemens Desigo CC | Building Management System | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2018 | 2020 |
In 2018 Siemens was contracted by The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey to deploy Siemens Desigo CC as a Building Management System for the redevelopment of LaGuardia Airport Central Terminal B. The engagement was announced in 2018 and the new Terminal B phased openings reached full public operations around 2020, with Siemens Desigo CC used for cross discipline monitoring and control during and after commissioning.
The implementation consolidated core functional modules for HVAC, fire, energy metering and lighting into a single operational layer. Siemens Desigo CC was configured to provide centralized visualization, alarm management, scheduled control and trend logging across those subsystems, enabling coordinated control workflows and multi discipline fault detection consistent with Building Management System practices.
Integrations were executed at the subsystem level to connect field devices and control panels for HVAC, fire detection and suppression, energy meters and lighting control systems, providing an integrated operational picture for Terminal B. The deployment scope focused on Central Terminal B within the New York metro region and supported cross discipline operators and facilities teams responsible for terminal environmental controls, safety monitoring and energy management.
Governance and rollout followed the terminal redevelopment schedule with phased deployment tied to phased openings, allowing staged commissioning and operator onboarding. The stated objectives included improved operations and enhanced passenger safety through consolidated monitoring and control, with Desigo CC serving as the centralized Building Management System for ongoing terminal operations.
