Sage Legacy Sage 50 ERP Financial ERP n/a 2019 2019
In 2019, Practical Publishing International provisioned Sage 50 as its ERP Financial application to support core finance operations. The deployment centered on the finance department and specifically targeted sales ledger, accounts payable, payment processing, and credit control workflows during the October 2019 to March 2020 period of role activity described. The implementation of Sage 50 was configured to support invoice ingestion and payment allocation workflows. Invoices were raised from the subscription system Cassy, exported into an Excel staging file and uploaded using Sage 50s CSV invoice import facility, while daily customer payments were allocated inside Sage 50. Supplier invoice processing was instrumented through a front end scanning and approval stream, with supplier invoices scanned into the Compleat system before being forwarded into Sage 50 for month end payments, and treasury activities such as BACS payments and bank refunds were executed from the Sage 50 environment. Integrations were operationalized between Cassy, Compleat and the Sage 50 ledger, and a direct debit channel was introduced by configuring GoCardless for recurring subscription collection. These connections established a flow from invoice origination to ledger posting and automated recurring payment collection, aligning accounts receivable and accounts payable processes within the ERP Financial platform. Operational coverage focused on the finance team, with day to day ownership of the sales ledger, supplier payments and reconciliations. Governance and process changes included a credit control discipline to keep customer balances below 30 days past due and the introduction of customer payment plans to manage large overdue balances while keeping subscriptions running. The deployment also removed manual monthly card collection for many customers by enabling GoCardless direct debits. The individual left the specific sales ledger role in March 2020 due to risk of redundancies related to the pandemic, and currently continues to work within Practical Publishing Internationals finance department performing Sage 50 based invoicing and payments duties.

Help Scout Legacy Help Scout Customer Support CRM n/a 2015 2015
In 2015 Practical Publishing International implemented Help Scout as its primary Customer Support application, embedding the Help Scout web widget on its corporate website to centralize inbound customer inquiries. The deployment relied on Help Scout as a cloud hosted support channel, positioned to handle email routed from the site and web-based message capture for client queries from the United Kingdom. Configuration focused on core Customer Support capabilities typical of the category, including shared inbox management, threaded message handling, templated responses and knowledge base publishing to surface self-service content. Help Scout was configured to support role based inboxes for the customer support and client services teams, with automated workflows and response macros to standardize handling of recurring editorial and subscription questions. Operational governance emphasized centralized mailbox ownership, response SLA guidelines, and a staged rollout on the company website to consolidate support traffic into Help Scout. Training and lightweight process documentation were established for agents to use Help Scout inboxes and the embedded support widget, aligning support workflows and reporting practices with ongoing customer service operations.
