In 2020, RSPL Group implemented SAP S/4 HANA as its ERP Financial system to centralize finance and accounting across its India operations. The program migrated financial data and transactional workflows from Microsoft Dynamics AX and established SAP S/4 HANA as the primary finance application for accounts payable, fixed assets accounting, reconciliation, and GST related invoicing and reporting.
The SAP S/4 HANA implementation focused on finance modules and configuration for fixed asset capitalization, quarterly asset compilation processes, accounts payable and vendor payment processing, bank reconciliation and vendor reconciliation, and GST invoicing and reporting for stores and services. SAP S/4 HANA was configured to support recurring capitalization cycles and to streamline statutory invoicing workflows, aligning with enterprise accounting and consolidation practices.
Operational coverage included multiple business units and retail stores, with finance teams handling GST related invoicing for domestic transactions and imported raw material flows from Customs House Agent records. The deployment consolidated transactional reporting and reconciliations across units and included data conversion from Microsoft Dynamics AX to SAP S/4 HANA to support unified financial close and vendor payment workflows.
Governance and process changes formalized quarterly fixed asset compilation and reconciliations within SAP S/4 HANA, and the project documented a reduction in data processing time for those finance close activities from 1.5 months to 1 month. Bank reconciliation, vendor reconciliation, and vendor payment processes were standardized in the new ERP Financial environment to improve control and auditability.
