In 2022, Saab implemented Unit4 ERPx to address fragmented purchasing and invoice processing across the group. Unit4 ERPx is deployed as an ERP Financial solution and was applied to standardize purchase invoice processing for approximately 17,500 employees across more than 30 countries where Saab operates.
The deployment focused on accounts payable automation, with the Unit4 ERPx invoice matching capability configured to replace manual reconciliation steps. Saab eliminated 18 manual checks through automated invoice matching, and the implementation centralized invoice processing workflows and authorization routing to reduce manual handoffs and processing errors.
Operational coverage extended across procurement and finance functions, cutting across previously ad hoc purchasing systems that had been consuming staff time. Governance was restructured around standardized authorization workflows and streamlined approval chains, enabling staff to focus on value added tasks and reducing the risk of invoice processing errors.

| Workday | Legacy | Workday Absence Management | Absence and Leave Management | HCM | n/a | 2022 | 2023 |
In 2022, Saab implemented Workday Absence Management as part of its HR technology portfolio. The deployment targeted core HR workflows within the company’s Human Resources Function and sits in the Absence and Leave Management category, delivering centralized time off and sick leave case capture for employees.
Workday Absence Management was configured to support the Absence/Time Off module and employee reporting for sick leave and care of child, with built-in reporting to surface cases where the company can access various reports and act on rehabilitating needs. Configuration work emphasized ensuring the system represented operational reality, and acceptance testing, end to end testing, training and rollout activities were led by internal HRIS and project leads.
The implementation was executed alongside Saab’s broader Workday HCM program and operated in the same technical domain as Recruitment, Talent & Performance, Learning & Development, Compensation & Benefits and Global Mobility modules. Operational coverage focused on HR business functions and governance teams, with the Absence Management instance supporting reporting and case handling workflows used by HR specialists and local HR teams.
Governance and process changes accompanied the technical rollout, with HR-appointed Data Protection Manager responsibilities, OpEx championing for digitalization, RPA development for HR automation and participation in security accreditation activities. Project management included migration and integration planning for adjacent HR systems such as selected LMS migrations and electronic signature initiatives, and the implementation delivered centralized absence tracking and reporting capabilities for HR operations.

| IFS | Legacy | IFS Maintenix | Aviation MRO | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2017 | 2017 |
In 2017 Saab implemented IFS Maintenix to support Aviation MRO across its Fleet Management and CAMO operations. The IFS Maintenix application underpins Saab's Aircraft Maintenance Management System, AMMS, which is developed to manage Continuing Airworthiness and configured for maintenance program management, reliability analysis, technical records, planning and logistic planning.
Implementation scope centered on configuring modules for maintenance program, reliability, technical records, planning, and logistic planning within the Fleet Management Solution portfolio, aligning application configuration to customer specifications. Development and test teams worked with IT-management and customers to implement, deliver and document services throughout contract lifecycles, and the AMMS Product Management team retained responsibility for product configuration and ongoing maintenance.
Operational deployment covered CAMO and Logistic Services, a department of roughly 80 co-workers organized into three sections with offices in Linköping, Arboga, Såtenäs, Järfälla, Luleå, Växjö and Uppsala, and the solution supported Saab Gripen operators, the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration and the Swedish Armed Forces. The deployment was embedded into Saab's internal IT-management and application lifecycle processes, with the IT and Application manager coordinating tasks across development, test and customer teams to ensure specification compliance and documentation of processes.
Governance emphasized CAMO process alignment, requirements specification and procedural documentation, with staff expected to provide guidance on Business Processes, supported systems and regulatory frameworks including EASA Part-M and Part-145 where relevant. The role required production of configuration recommendations, customer support during rollout and security vetting for personnel, and the AMMS implementation was tailored rather than a generic package to meet operator-specific Fleet Management needs.
