In 2018, Serco implemented SAP S/4 HANA as its enterprise ERP Financial platform. The deployment positioned SAP S/4 HANA as the companys financial core within Serco's global ERP landscape and corporate applications strategy.
The implementation emphasized standard ERP Financial capabilities, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial close orchestration, consolidated reporting, and master data governance. Configuration work focused on a standardized global chart of accounts and harmonized financial master data to support consistent financial processes and statutory reporting across business units.

In 2016, Serco deployed the Empactis Platform to manage employee absence and health across its UK businesses, using the Absence and Leave Management,Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) application set. The Empactis Platform was contracted to capture unplanned absence, manage attendance cases, process health referrals and administer Group Income Protection cases, with Empactis Insight providing analytics and reporting for employee health.

Operational coverage centered on HR teams and line managers in Serco’s UK businesses, with the platform directly impacting HR case management, absence administration and employee well-being programs. Functional terminology implemented included absence capture, attendance case management, health referral routing and Group Income Protection case handling, aligning HR processes to standardized digital workflows and manager-facing guidance.

| SAP | Legacy | SAP Concur Travel | Travel Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2010 | 2010 |
In 2010, Serco implemented SAP Concur Travel as its corporate travel booking platform. The deployment targeted Travel Management for executive assistants supporting Executive Directors and the CFO UK & Europe, and it operated alongside the internal travel department within Serco’s 50,000 employee professional services organization.
SAP Concur Travel was configured to manage booking workflows and itinerary management for senior executives and their support teams, with policy-aware booking controls and approval routing used by Executive Assistants. Configuration emphasized centralized itinerary visibility, booking recordkeeping, and delegated travel arrangement capabilities that matched the EA role responsibilities described for Serco staff.
Operational workflows show SAP Concur Travel used for coordinating travel arrangements while expense transactions, purchase orders, and invoices were processed on SAP, and employee changes and forms were submitted through the My HR software system. The pattern reflects an operational landscape where travel booking and itinerary data from SAP Concur Travel feed into finance and HR processes, and coordination with an internal travel department and EA teams provided day to day operational coverage.
Governance and process changes centered on formalizing EA and executive booking responsibilities, approval workflows for travel requests, and role-based access for travel coordinators and finance users. Implementation emphasis was on aligning travel booking operations with existing SAP finance processes and HR records updates, and on standardizing travel workflows across the CFO UK & Europe office and support functions.
