Discover the latest software purchases and digital transformation initiatives being undertaken by SMU and its business and technology executives. Each quarter our research team identifies on-prem and cloud applications that are being used by the 30000 SMU employees from the public (Press Releases, Customer References, Testimonials, Case Studies and Success Stories) and proprietary sources.
During our research, we have identified that SMU has purchased the following applications: SAP S/4 HANA for ERP Financial in 2021, Frogmi for Task Management in 2020, Cisco Webex Meetings for Audio Video and Web Conferencing in 2022 and the related IT decision-makers and key stakeholders.
Our database provides customer insight and contextual information on which enterprise applications and software systems SMU is running and its propensity to invest more and deepen its relationship with SAP , Frogmi , Cisco Systems or identify new suppliers as part of their overall Digital and IT transformation projects to stay competitive, fend off threats from disruptive forces, or comply with internal mandates to improve overall enterprise efficiency.
We have been analyzing SMU revenues, which have grown to $5.10 billion in 2024, plus its IT budget and roadmap, cloud software purchases, aggregating massive amounts of data points that form the basis of our forecast assumptions for SMU intention to invest in emerging technologies such as AI, Machine Learning, IoT, Blockchain, Autonomous Database or in cloud-based ERP, HCM, CRM, EPM, Procurement or Treasury applications.

In 2021, SMU implemented SAP S/4 HANA as its ERP Financial platform. The deployment at SMU, a Chilean retail group with approximately 30,000 employees and reported revenue of 5.1 billion, focused on consolidating core finance and accounting processes and aligning end to end financial workflows across the organization.
The implementation scope emphasized financial modules typical of an ERP Financial system, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, asset accounting and financial close management. Configuration work centered on chart of accounts harmonization, master data governance and statutory reporting controls to meet Chilean fiscal and regulatory requirements, with SAP S/4 HANA configured to support these business functions.
Infrastructure leadership for the SAP S/4 HANA project was based in Santiago, the leader overseeing analysis, design, creation, optimization and maintenance of the infrastructure for systems impacted by the project, and ensuring continuous coordination with cross functional teams. The technical architecture encompassed a multi tier system landscape across development, test and production environments, sizing and provisioning of compute, storage and network resources, and operational responsibilities for backups, availability and release coordination to support end to end processes.
Governance and rollout orchestration included cross team change control, transport sequencing and cutover planning to align IT infrastructure and finance stakeholders, with ongoing process governance to support maintenance and iterative enhancements. SAP S/4 HANA at SMU serves finance, treasury, accounting and procurement business functions, with infrastructure and operational processes organized to sustain the ERP Financial implementation.

In 2020, SMU deployed Frogmi as a Task Management application to instrument in store operations and merchandising across its Chile retail chain. The implementation integrated an AI expiration risk model with the Frogmi application and its SKU level task management to automatically identify at risk perishables and generate corrective store tasks.
Configuration focused on SKU level task generation, automated task routing to store operations and merchandising teams, task prioritization and status tracking, and BI event telemetry to support operational decision making. Frogmi was configured to consume model signals and translate them into actionable checklists and corrective actions assigned to store personnel and regional supervisors.
The integration linked the AI expiration risk model to Frogmi's task engine and to real time BI reporting, providing visibility to field managers and regional operations leads across Chile. Operational scope covered in store operations, merchandising teams, and store managers across the national footprint, with task assignments pushed to store-level workflows.
Rollout introduced task governance and escalation workflows so automated corrective tasks entered daily store routines and were auditable by operations management. The project delivered a 17% reduction in shrinkage and improved real time BI visibility of results.

| Cisco Systems | Legacy | Cisco Webex Meetings | Audio Video and Web Conferencing | Collaboration | n/a | 2022 | 2022 |
In 2022, SMU implemented Cisco Webex Meetings as its Audio Video and Web Conferencing capability on the corporate website. The deployment uses Cisco Webex Meetings to enable web-based meeting initiation and attendee access directly from SMU's site, positioning Cisco Webex Meetings within SMU Audio Video and Web Conferencing for both internal and external collaboration workflows.
The technical footprint reflects a cloud-hosted Webex Meetings architecture delivered through embedded web clients and browser-based meeting links, with session orchestration and media streaming handled by Cisco Systems infrastructure. Functional areas implemented align with standard Audio Video and Web Conferencing capabilities, including scheduled and ad hoc meetings, video and audio conferencing, screen sharing, recording, and participant and host controls, with administrative settings managed through the Webex Meetings admin console.
Operationally, the implementation supports web-accessible meeting workflows for employees and external partners via the SMU website, and is governed through Webex access controls, user provisioning and meeting policies configured in the application. Integrations are limited to the website embedding and the Cisco Webex Meetings cloud service as the stated components of the implementation, with governance focused on meeting administration and access management rather than changes to other enterprise systems.
