In 2016, Sprott implemented Oracle Cloud ERP, deploying Oracle Cloud Financials and Enterprise Performance Management EPM to address its ERP Financial requirements across the group. Vigilant implemented Oracle Cloud Financials and EPM modules and continues to provide application managed support services for the environment.
The deployment implemented functional modules including General Ledger, Assets, Payables & Receivables, Cash Management, Loans & Lease Management and Planning. EPM was developed specifically to support Asset and Lease Management and to assist in generation of complex financial statements required by the business.
The Asset and Lease Management solution was integrated with Financials to align investment asset records with accounting balances and enable consolidated financial statements across multiple countries and GAAP requirements. The implementation covered Sprott Inc. holding company entities and offices in Canada, USA, UK and Asia, bringing reporting and consolidation workflows into the Oracle Cloud ERP platform.
Project work included a redesigned Chart of Accounts to improve reporting capabilities and standardize consolidation mappings across entities. The combination of Oracle Cloud Financials configuration and EPM planning capabilities restructured reporting workflows and supported automated financial statement generation for an asset manager operating across jurisdictions.
Vigilant’s managed support and the Oracle Cloud ERP configuration reduced period close time from 15 days to less than 3 days and established ongoing financial consolidation and statement generation services. Oracle Cloud ERP remains the core ERP Financial system for Sprott with continued application managed support from Vigilant.

In 2022, Sprott implemented the Tradewind VaultChain Platform, a Blockchain Platform, to digitize ownership, trading and settlement workflows for vaulted gold through Sprott Digital Precious Metals U.S. Inc. The implementation established a permissioned distributed ledger as the authoritative title registry while physical metal remains held at the Royal Canadian Mint storage facilities.
The Tradewind VaultChain Platform deployment centered on VaultChain Gold functionality for representing investment grade physical gold and on-chain custody and settlement attributes. Transaction validation is driven by a set of contracts executed by independent nodes, providing immutable ownership records, real-time tracking and prevention of unauthorized entries, double-spends and chargebacks.
Operational integration explicitly includes the Royal Canadian Mint acting as sub-custodian for the stored gold, while the VaultChain Distributed Ledger serves as final proof of title. The rollout focused on business functions across Sprott Digital Precious Metals U.S. Inc., including electronic trading, custody validation, settlement orchestration and auditability of ownership transfers.
Governance was implemented via a permissioned access model that limits ledger participation to authorized entities and enforces on-chain validation rules that replace paper-based title workflows. VaultChain Gold is documented as not being a security, derivative, future or other financial contract, and owners are able to eliminate the layers of expenses in owning physical gold by relying on the Tradewind VaultChain Platform as the definitive ownership record.
