SAP Legacy SAP ERP ECC 6.0 ERP Financial ERP n/a 2011 2012
In 2011, Swisslog UK implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as its core transactional application. The deployment emphasized ERP Financial functions, positioning SAP ERP ECC 6.0 to support finance and controlling workflows and ledger orchestration within the broader automation ecosystem. Configuration work focused on financial and controlling modules aligned to ERP Financial processes, and on message orchestration through SAP MII, Manufacturing Integration Intelligence. The team was heavily involved with Swisslog ASRS automation tests that exercised end to end flows between SAP EWM, SAP ERP ECC 6.0 and the Manhattan 3P system, validating message formats and transaction sequencing. All messages received in SAP MII were converted to XML and distributed to downstream systems, and the project identified missing segments and messages that differed from scope and delivered solutions to align message schemas and mappings. Architecturally SAP MII served as the single market connection endpoint, acting as the central broker between warehouse execution in SAP EWM, transactional processing in SAP ERP ECC 6.0 and the Manhattan 3P system. This integration layer enabled automated ASRS test scenarios to validate XML schema compliance, routing logic and message distribution across automation and warehouse systems. Governance emphasis was placed on message validation, test case management and exception capture within SAP MII, with processes established to record discrepancies and update message mappings. Operational coverage included warehouse automation testing, systems integration validation and alignment of financial transaction flows to ensure consistent data exchange across the connected systems.
