In 2012, Symcor Canada implemented Oracle E-Business Suite as its core ERP Financial platform. The Oracle E-Business Suite deployment centralized financial operations for the banking and financial services workflows, consolidating Inventory, Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and General Ledger modules to support transactional and back office functions.
The implementation emphasized Oracle Financials configuration and integration readiness to support downstream composition, order management and print production workflows. Functional coverage included integration touchpoints for order management and composition systems used to generate and print cheques and statements, with configuration parameters exposed in admin consoles to minimize onboarding friction.
Deployment architecture progressed through DEV, QA and CAT environments using DEVOPS CI/CD practices for progressive releases. Integrations were executed using API components to synchronize data between the OMS, Composition and Post Composition systems, Inventory, Billing, Shipping Call Centre and Oracle Financials, with data encryption and regulatory controls enforced across the data lifecycle to address GDPR and SRD2 requirements.
Governance combined formal requirements artifacts such as BRD, IWR and test strategy with both Waterfall planning for select releases and Agile Scrum for iterative programs, supported by Confluence and JIRA for requirements and defect tracking. Project records indicate the Oracle Financials integration supported programs that were planned to generate 3M dollars per year in revenue and to realize 20M dollars per year in savings in later initiatives, reflecting the application’s role across finance, billing and operations.
