BMO US | Banking and Financial Services | 12000 | $7.4B | United States | WorkFusion | WorkFusion | Robotic Process Automation | 2018 | n/a |
In 2018, BMO Bank implemented WorkFusion Robotic Process Automation to automate invoice processing for its enterprise supply chain Oracle application under the ESC project. The implementation targeted eInvoice match processing and Purchase Order Match tasks handled by the Accounts Payable operations team.
WorkFusion was configured to execute front-end automation for PO Match, automating mechanical entry of invoice images and associated artifacts while embedded OCR pipelines extracted text for downstream processing. Machine learning models were developed to classify invoice types and extract structured fields, reducing manual classification and data extraction workload and increasing the efficiency of automation.
The deployment integrated WorkFusion with the enterprise supply chain Oracle application and used MySQL during model development and processing. Functional capabilities implemented included workflow orchestration for PO Match, image ingestion and OCR preprocessing, ML driven classification and field extraction, and automated upload of matched invoices into the Oracle application.
Operational scope covered the AP operations team as part of the ESC project lifecycle between May 2018 and June 2019 during model development. Governance emphasized non-intrusive front-end automation to avoid back-end change, separating mechanical tasks from those requiring logic and interpretation so automation and ML could be applied where rules and training data supported reliable processing.

Citigroup | Banking and Financial Services | 230000 | $81.1B | United States | WorkFusion | WorkFusion | Robotic Process Automation | 2014 | n/a |
In 2014, Citigroup implemented WorkFusion as part of a Robotic Process Automation program focused on procurement and travel operations. WorkFusion was deployed alongside an Application Manager portfolio responsible for 10+ applications spanning procurement, travel and expense, sourcing, and vendor RFP processes, positioning WorkFusion as the enterprise RPA engine within that ecosystem.
The WorkFusion implementation emphasized standard Robotic Process Automation capabilities, including bot orchestration, unattended and attended automation, scheduling, workflow automation, process recording and exception handling. Configuration work centered on automating repetitive procurement and travel workflows, defining automation runbooks, and building reusable automation components to align with enterprise change control and scheduling policies.
Integrations were executed with Concur Travel and Expense, SAP Sourcing, SAGE ERP, IPSoft Amelia, Rocketrip, Carlson Wagonlit Travel, Ariba, AppZen, eCBS, IBM ELA, and Prolodgic Hotel RFP Process Mgmt applications, reflecting an operational scope across procurement and travel business functions. Governance was operated through an Application Manager model that coordinated release management, application configuration ownership, and cross-application change control for the combined set of procurement and travel systems.
