In 2013, Sysco implemented FIS GETPAID as an AR Automation solution to centralize credit and collections workflows and to reduce total liabilities while improving the company credit rating system. The implementation targeted GetPaid Credit and Collections Avantgarde functionality to manage accounts receivable, credit decisioning, and collections orchestration for Sysco Inc.
Development work delivered a program to transmit credit and AR information from SAP into FIS GETPAID using Informatica as middleware. The program included automated batch job scheduling for customer profile and credit related information, structured error handling and exception reporting, and synchronization logic to keep credit attributes and AR balances aligned between systems.
Integrations were explicit, with SAP acting as the source of customer and credit data and Informatica providing the integration layer and data transformation. Operational coverage centered on Accounts Receivable and Credit and Collections teams, with the deployment integrating credit scoring inputs, customer profile synchronization, and collections workflows into the FIS GETPAID application.
Governance and process changes formalized automated inbound feeds, batch scheduling policies, and exception handling routing to AR operations. Outcomes specified in project notes include a reduction in total liabilities and improved accuracy of the credit rating system used by Sysco, driven by the automated SAP to FIS GETPAID data flows and consolidated credit and collections processing.

In 2017, Sysco implemented Workday Absence Management as part of its HR technology stack. The deployment targeted absence administration and leave workflows within the Absence and Leave Management category and was aligned with Workday HCM as the central HR platform. The effort was overseen by an HRIS organization of six to ten analysts responsible for core HR processes including Recruiting, Payroll, Absence, HR data management, and Talent Management, and it partnered closely with HR and BT leaders to define HR technology strategy and roadmap.
Workday Absence Management was configured to manage leave types, accrual calculations, entitlement rules, absence request and approval routing, and operational reporting. The implementation emphasized workflow automation for approvals and balance calculations and included configuration to surface operational metrics such as HRIS data accuracy and eTime error rate for ongoing monitoring.
The project integrated absence data flows with Payroll, Recruiting, HR data management, Talent Management, and other HRIS systems while Workday HCM served as the system of record for employee and leave information. Integration scope focused on synchronizing absence and time-related data across payroll and HR systems to support payroll accuracy and timely processing.
Governance included a strong project management cadence, led from HRIS with weekly prioritization meetings to align HR functional leaders and BT, and iterative measurement of solution effectiveness. HRIS leadership drove design and implementation activities to deliver metrics-based results such as improved HRIS data accuracy, payroll accuracy and timeliness, and reduced eTime error rate, while building a high performing team focused on customer service and platform operations.

The deployment targeted finance and accounting teams responsible for travel policy enforcement and expense oversight, and it established a single platform for travel itinerary capture, expense reporting, and approvals.
SAP Concur Travel was configured to support core Travel Management capabilities including online booking and itinerary management, expense capture tied to travel events, automated policy checks and approval routing, and consolidated reporting for travel spend visibility. Implementation work emphasized configuration of corporate travel policies, approval hierarchies, and automated expense data collection consistent with travel and expense control practices.
Integrations were explicit components of the design, with SAP Concur Travel linked to Concur travel and expense platforms and integrated with Chase Paymentnet and Smart data platforms as payment and data sources, and with Comdata Fuelman for fuel card transaction feeds. These integrations used platform-level interfaces to bring payment transactions and fuel card data into the travel and expense lifecycle for reconciliation and audit support.
Governance and operating model changes accompanied the technical rollout, driven by accounting leaders with multi-year supervisory experience, and included building out an operations team for on-going support and maintenance of travel processes. The implementation scope included formalized approval workflows, centralized travel policy enforcement, and provisioning of support and training to sustain process ownership within finance and travel operations.
