| SAP | Legacy | SAP S/4 HANA | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2017 | 2017 |
In 2017, TasNetworks implemented SAP S/4 HANA as its ERP Financial platform. The SAP S/4 HANA deployment sits at the center of a broader SAP applications portfolio that includes SAP S/4 Hana ISU, SAP HCM, SAP EHS, SAP Mobile, SAP GRC, SAP PO, SAP BI, Bobj, SuccessFactors, Ariba, SAP Work Manager, SAP Multi Resource Schedule MRS, SAP Business Planning & Consolidation BPC and Concur.
The implementation configured SAP S/4 HANA to provide core financial management capabilities including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, asset accounting and industry specific utility billing and customer management via SAP S/4 Hana ISU. Human capital capabilities are split between on‑premise SAP HCM and cloud aligned SuccessFactors for HR lifecycle processes, while SAP EHS is applied for safety and regulatory compliance. Planning and consolidation workflows were scoped to SAP BPC, and travel and expense processes were routed to Concur.
Integration architecture leverages SAP PO as the explicit middleware layer to orchestrate data flows across SAP S/4 HANA, SuccessFactors, Ariba, Concur and mobile workforce applications such as SAP Work Manager and SAP Mobile. SAP BI and SAP BusinessObjects are used as the reporting and analytics tier, consuming transactional and master data from S/4 HANA and ISU to support financial close and operational reporting. The stack also includes SAP Multi Resource Schedule MRS to coordinate field scheduling with work management transactions recorded in the mobile applications.
Governance and process design emphasized centralized finance and compliance controls through SAP GRC and standardized planning cycles using BPC. Operational coverage spans finance, procurement, HR, EHS, asset and field operations, with workflows for work management and resource scheduling integrated into the SAP application landscape to align field execution with financial and asset accounting processes.

| SAP | Legacy | SAP HCM (HR) | Core HR | HCM | n/a | 2017 | 2017 |
In 2017, TasNetworks implemented SAP HCM to manage Core HR functions across the organization and centralize employee recordkeeping. SAP HCM was deployed alongside a broader SAP applications portfolio that included SAP S/4 Hana ISU, SAP EHS, SAP Mobile, SAP GRC, SAP PO, SAP BI, Bobj, Successfactors, Ariba, SAP Work Manager, SAP Multi Resource Schedule MRS, SAP BPC and Concur, establishing a coordinated SAP landscape.
SAP HCM was configured to provide core personnel administration, organizational management, time management and payroll capabilities, aligning HR master data and role definitions with payroll and timekeeping workflows. The implementation emphasized configurable infotypes and standard Core HR transactional processes to support HR case management, employee lifecycle events and compliance-oriented recordkeeping.
Integration architecture used SAP PO as the middleware backbone to exchange HR master data and transactional feeds with SAP S/4 Hana ISU and with downstream reporting platforms such as SAP BI and Bobj, while Successfactors and Ariba remained part of the overall application estate for talent and procurement workflows. This landscape approach enabled SAP HCM to serve as the authoritative Core HR system of record while interfacing with specialist SAP modules for operational and analytical needs.
Governance and operational ownership were structured between HR and IT, with SAP GRC included in the portfolio to enforce role based access controls and segregation of duties for payroll and HR administration. Rollout and process standardization focused on embedding SAP HCM into HR operational processes and aligning HR change controls with the enterprise SAP release management cadence.

In 2021 TasNetworks implemented IFS Copperleaf as a decision analytics solution to strengthen Asset Investment Planning and Management, aligning with the Asset Performance Management category. The implementation was positioned to enhance asset investment decision making across the organization that serves over 295,000 customers and the transmission link with the mainland, with a stated objective of improving replacement expenditure forecasting and program delivery for communities and industries in Tasmania.
The deployment delivered IFS Copperleaf with all three core Copperleaf modules, Copperleaf Asset™, Copperleaf Portfolio™, and Copperleaf Value™, going live simultaneously within the first implementation phase. Configuration centered on asset investment planning workflows and portfolio prioritization capabilities, enabling structured evaluation of investment options and value-based portfolio sequencing consistent with Asset Performance Management practices.
Operational coverage explicitly included the Asset Strategy and Performance group and the Asset Management Improvement Program, reflecting involvement from program and strategy leaders in the rollout. The solution was positioned as a centralized decision analytics layer to inform replacement expenditure forecasts and program of work planning, integrating into TasNetworks business functions responsible for asset strategy, planning, and operational delivery.
Governance and rollout were led by internal asset management leadership with vendor engagement described as positive and constructive, delivering a trouble-free implementation that completed on time and on budget.
