In 2013 Taylor Maxwell implemented Microsoft Dynamics GP as its ERP Financial application, establishing a hosted financial management backbone supported by m-hance. m-hance, a Microsoft Gold Partner, has supported Taylor Maxwell's Microsoft Dynamics GP deployment for over ten years and led the subsequent cloud trajectory alongside the company’s IT team.
Microsoft Dynamics GP was configured to address core financial management needs typical of ERP Financial deployments, including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, transactional accounting and inventory-related workflows. Configuration work emphasized stable transaction processing and integration readiness to accommodate bespoke applications used across Taylor Maxwell’s product and supply chain operations.
Over the past two years m-hance worked with Taylor Maxwell to move the Dynamics GP ecosystem into Microsoft Azure, provisioning a SQL Server in Azure and deploying multiple Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop machines to host Dynamics GP sessions. The Azure Virtual Desktop architecture enabled integration of several bespoke applications into the same cloud platform, and the environment scaled from an initial 60 users toward a planned cohort of around 300 users, providing secure remote access to programmes from anywhere.
Operational governance and runbook changes were established through collaborative procedures between Taylor Maxwell’s IT team and the m-hance Technical Services Team, who handled specification increases and performed most changes out of hours to avoid business disruption. m-hance also provided Azure expertise that the in-house team lacked, supporting hybrid and fully managed cloud configurations and assisting with ongoing capacity tuning as the business expanded.
Explicit outcomes cited by project stakeholders include a modernised deployment model for traditional applications like Microsoft Dynamics GP, expanded ability to extend the Azure-hosted service beyond Dynamics GP, increased compute capacity as business needs grew and an operating posture described as secure and compliant by the implementation partner. These structural changes positioned Taylor Maxwell’s ERP Financial platform for scalable cloud operations across its site network.
