Standard Payment Processing functional terminology such as workflow orchestration, case management, and transaction posting was applied to describe the scope of changes, while the program did not include an integrated automated workflow or a separate case management platform in the surrounding toolset. Operationally the rollout was scoped to Retail Card Services back-office operations in the United States, where daily processing remained labor intensive and error prone according to internal QA reporting. Governance and process controls emphasized inspection and oversight, because line of sight into work in process was limited and it was difficult to status individual CB disputes, Complaints/Disputes, and fraud claims without additional workflow automation.
