| Workday | Legacy | Workday Benefits | Benefits Administration | HCM | n/a | 2016 | 2017 |
In 2016 Techdata deployed Workday Benefits as the company’s centralized Benefits Administration capability within its global HR ERP footprint. Workday Benefits was configured to centralize benefits administration workflows and to interface with payroll and commissions domains across HR operations for the organization’s global employee base.
The implementation emphasized integration-heavy configuration, leveraging Workday integrations such as EIBs, core connectors, Cloud connectors, worker change interface, payroll interfaces, PICOFs & PECIs, and advanced reporting. Workday Studio was used to design and deploy complex orchestration, with Workday Web Service Tester and Studio project deployments cited as operational tools, while RaaS reports and endpoint connections using REST, JSON and WSDL were used for extract and API-based reporting.
Integrations were built to connect disparate databases and systems using SOAP, REST and API Web Services, and file transfer protocols including FTP, SFTP and HTTP. The team coordinated integration run schedules with vendors, developed connectivity patterns for inbound and outbound flows, and maintained interfaces that specifically support Benefits, Payroll, and Commissions functional areas.
Governance for the deployment included regression testing across Workday releases to identify interface impacts, formalized change control and production verification processes, and documentation of integration designs and technical specifications. Security controls and encryption for data in transit were established for integrations, and a lead application specialist role provided technical leadership, mentoring, and governance to specialist teams to ensure compliance with architectural standards and established development methodologies.

| Palantir Technologies | Legacy | Palantir Foundry | Analytics and BI | Analytics and BI | n/a | 2020 | 2020 |
In 2020, Techdata implemented Palantir Foundry to support an automated marketing lead distribution system. The Palantir Foundry deployment served as the Analytics and BI layer for lead analysis and routing across Techdata and reseller channels.
The implementation combined a .NET and modern JavaScript stack with data orchestration components. Web front ends were built using ASP.NET Web Forms, MVC with Razor, and Angular 7 written in TypeScript, while WPF and Silverlight MVVM components addressed desktop workflows. Server side capabilities included ASP.NET Web API controllers, WCF services, RESTful APIs, multithreaded processing and background job handling using Azure Queues, Azure Web role hosting, Azure Storage and Azure SQL Services, and SQL Server data objects with SSIS packages for ETL.
Streaming and data pipeline integration were central to the architecture, with Kafka used to stream LBP processed data messages to topic partitions based on message type. Messages were pushed from Kafka topics to a Hadoop server and into Palantir Foundry for business analysis, with Kibana used to visualize Kafka topic messages and identify stream failures. The solution also interfaced with AWS components where appropriate, including Lambda functions and AWS Beanstalk for Docker based deployments, and CI systems used Jenkins to build and deploy services to Apache Tomcat and other application hosts. The implementation explicitly supported marketing lead distribution workflows for Techdata and its resellers and included operational coverage for the Tampa, FL client site.
Governance and delivery practices emphasized test driven development and automated pipelines. Unit and integration testing used NUnit, Xunit and MOQ, while deployment coordination included SCCM for packaged applications and Jenkins for CI CD pipelines. Palantir Foundry was referenced as the centralized Analytics and BI endpoint for downstream business analysis, while existing monitoring and logging tools were used to maintain stream health and operational visibility.
