In 2018, Tesco Bank India implemented Oracle Cloud ERP as part of its Global Finance Transformation Programme, deploying an ERP Financial solution to consolidate finance functionality. The program included Oracle Fusion HCM and Oracle Fusion Finance Cloud 12C implementations and migrated finance processes from Oracle E-Business Suite, converting EBS 11i interfaces and transactional patterns into cloud-native finance workflows.
The Oracle Cloud ERP deployment focused on Fusion Finance modules and integrated HCM capabilities, with configuration work that included file-based data import using FBDI, report and document publishing with Fusion BIP, and analytics via OTBI. A Sopra Steria technical consultant acted as SOA Technical Architect, responsible for integration development, business process mappings, and designing PaaS extension points that align with Fusion application configurations.
Integration architecture leveraged the Oracle Fusion Middleware suite and Oracle SOA running on platform services, implementing the approved integration strategy to transform legacy synchronous and batch interfaces into orchestrated end-to-end business processes. Integrations were built to span external customers and vendors and were developed in close collaboration with business users and analysts based in Tesco Bengaluru, reflecting the program requirement to touch multiple areas beyond Finance.
Program governance was exercised through the Global Finance Transformation Programme, operating as a multi-year, global rollout with prioritized business process mapping and staged delivery of integrations and data loads. The implementation emphasized standardized finance process orchestration in Oracle Cloud ERP, with technical ownership for integration delivery and continual alignment with business stakeholders throughout the rollout.
