In 2009 The Hartford Insurance Group implemented Oracle PeopleSoft Payables as part of an AP Automation deployment to support accounts payable, general ledger close, and travel and expense processes. The Hartford implemented General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Travel and Expense modules within PeopleSoft FSCM 9.1 to support Commercial Markets, Mutual Funds, and Consumer Markets business functions.
Oracle PeopleSoft Payables was customized and configured using PeopleTools 8.51, PeopleCode, PS Query, and an Oracle 11.5 database. Implementation work included month end GL processing, AP invoice automation, automated file processing to load source files into the PeopleSoft ledger, quarterly audit report generation, and disaster recovery planning. The team performed customizations, production support, and ongoing configuration of the Oracle PeopleSoft Payables application to stabilize FSCM 9.1 operations.
Integrations centered on ingesting and transforming files from mainframe sources, using Mainframe JCL and FTP to move files to UNIX, UNIX scripts and Autosys scheduler for job orchestration, and Informatica workflows to format and load data into PeopleSoft and run AE batch jobs. The program also included ARIBA file transfer processes, NAS Q Tree upgrade activities, and a SC data center upgrade touching Schlage and vendorbuilt applications, linking the AP Automation layer to external procurement and hosting components.
Operational governance followed a technical lead model, with a PeopleSoft technical lead managing a 15 person team in an offshore and onsite delivery model, coordinating vendor resource sourcing and mentoring. Governance and delivery cycles incorporated requirement gathering, fit gap analysis, technical review for STAT tickets, production support with root cause analysis, quarterly audit runs, and execution of DR plans to maintain the AP Automation footprint.

In 2018 The Hartford Insurance Group implemented Workday Absence Management to establish centralized Absence and Leave Management capabilities for time off and leave workflows. The deployment targeted standardization of absence types, policy templates and employee self service for a large, multi-site insurance workforce.
Workday Absence Management was configured to support standard absence tracking, accrual rules, leave requests, manager approvals and absence reporting, with an emphasis on role based approvals and configurable policy calendars. Configurations included automated approval workflows, entitlement calculations and employee facing request and balance visibility to support HR case handling and manager decisioning.
Governance and rollout emphasized content and process remediation prior to launch, with audit and clean up of outdated policy content and creation of an approval process involving subject matter experts, legal and compliance. The program applied Agile and Scrum practices such as daily standups and partnered closely with internal design and user experience teams to optimize access and reduce end user friction, using the existing intranet portal as the primary access point to Workday to avoid additional portal procurement.
Operational impact centered on HR Technology Services, HR operations, benefits administration and manager self service workflows, with editorial support for policy revisions and streamlined change communications. The implementation reduced parallel portal complexity and centralized absence policy governance while embedding approval controls and user experience improvements into absence and leave processes.

Integrations and runtime architecture used a micro services architecture pattern for integrations, with Guidewire ClaimCenter 9 identified in the environment and platform components including WebSphere application servers, Git for version control and Oracle Database for persistence. Integration work emphasized configuration and integration touchpoints rather than custom external vendor integrations.
Governance and operational control were managed through Guidewire Studio driven configuration, Git-based change management and scripted automation for batch and validation processes, aligning Insurance Claims Management configuration with claims operations and underwriting support functions.
