| SAP | SAP ERP ECC 6.0 | SAP S/4 HANA | ERP Financial | ERP Financial Management | n/a | 2022 | 2023 |
In 2022 Toyota Motor Australia upgraded its core financial ERP, replacing SAP ERP ECC 6.0 with SAP S/4 HANA as the company’s ERP Financial application. The implementation was finance-centric, focused on standardizing management accounting, statutory and parent-company reporting, and the planning & analysis workflows that support monthly forecasts, board reporting and KPI dashboards. Deployment activities centered on FP&A processes (forecasting, budget and mid-term planning), financial reporting requirements for Australian IFRS and parent GAAP, SOX controls and ongoing SAP maintenance tied to month/quarter close. The project targeted Toyota Australia’s finance organization and executive reporting chain, consolidating reporting flows to the parent company and formalizing profit management, challenge-and-countermeasure processes used by finance leads.

| Workday | Legacy | Workday Absence Management | Absence and Leave Management | HCM | n/a | 2019 | 2019 |
In 2019, Toyota Motor Australia implemented Workday Absence Management as part of its myHR People & Culture Transformation program. The deployment aligned absence management with the broader Workday HCM scope that included Core HCM, Employee and Manager Self-Service, Absence and time tracking, Basic compensation, and dashboard reporting.
Workday Absence Management was configured to deliver employee and manager self-service leave request and approval workflows, and to centralize time-off balances within the Workday tenant. Configuration work emphasized absence types, accruals and entitlement calculations consistent with Australian employment rules, and integration points for automated data flows between HCM records and payroll provisioning.
Integrations were implemented to connect absence data into the payroll and identity landscape, including Preceda payroll platform, MIM for identity provisioning, Okta for authentication, Concur and Serko for travel and expense alignment, Success Factors and Solterbeck for specific Toyota HR interactions, plus other Toyota-specific systems. Payroll execution was coordinated alongside a concurrent Preceda payroll implementation and a full outsourcing of payroll processing to Ascender, ensuring leave balances fed downstream payroll runs.
Governance for the rollout was executed under the myHR program governance, led by a Senior Project Manager who coordinated the first delivery phase and phased cutovers across People & Culture and HR operational teams at Toyota Motor Corporation Australia. Workday Absence Management functions were positioned as the enterprise Absence and Leave Management system for Toyota Motor Australia, integrated into core HR processes and self-service workflows.
