| OpenText | Legacy | OpenText Vendor Invoice Management | AP Automation | ERP Financial Management | n/a | 2014 | 2015 |
In 2014 Tractor Supply implemented OpenText Vendor Invoice Management as its AP Automation platform to process more than 6,000 PO and non-PO paper invoices daily. The OpenText Vendor Invoice Management deployment centralized invoice capture and processing within Tractor Supply's AP Automation landscape and was coordinated with the company's SAP financial environment.
Implementation work focused on integrating and customizing core VIM components, the archive server, and the document pipeline while leveraging ICC Optical Character Recognition and Enterprise Scanner hardware to automate invoice data capture. OpenText VIM Workplace and OT Image Viewer were configured to support exception handling, document review, and task routing across accounts payable workflows. The project also included configuring VIM Analytics for month-end and year-end closing reports and customizing VIM email notifications for approval and exception alerts.
The solution was implemented as an SAP-integrated invoice processing layer, mapping captured invoice header and line data into SAP posting and accounts payable workflows and preserving archived images on the OpenText archive server for auditability. Integration emphasis was on feeding validated invoice data into SAP finance transaction flows and maintaining image linkage for compliance and audit retrieval.
Governance and rollout details documented process types and a formal invoice approval chain of command, and requirements capture drove analytics and notification configuration. The implementation aligned VIM approval routing with Tractor Supply's AP controls to support invoice processing, exception resolution, and month-end close reporting requirements.
