In 2017, Trupanion implemented DataRobot Cloud in the ML and Data Science Platforms category. The selection met a strict requirement for immediate cost benefit, a procurement condition driven by Chief Data Officer TJ Houk, and favored DataRobot's cloud-native architecture on Amazon Web Services which could readily ingest heterogeneous data sources.
DataRobot Cloud was configured to ingest data from a variety of internal and external feeds and to orchestrate automated model training and evaluation, enabling the platform to generate trainable algorithms for outcome prediction. Implementation work emphasized automated feature engineering, model validation workflows, and model export and deployment capabilities consistent with ML and Data Science Platforms functionality.
