Data and master data management were called out as primary workstreams, with a formal data strategy, engagement of data gatekeepers, and measurement requirements defined to ensure consistent data flow between processes as systems were rationalized during the SAP S/4 HANA transition. Integrations with other systems were acknowledged as existing dependencies and the implementation plan preserved those interfaces while profiling data movement and process ownership for each boundary. Business process walkthroughs were used to surface cross functional handoffs, and subject matter experts were engaged to document current state process flows ahead of configuration in SAP S/4 HANA. Governance and change management were established through identification of business process owners, open door sessions to communicate change impacts, and use of Clarkston’s SuccessCheck methodology to surface organization readiness and capture broad stakeholder input. The organization intentionally centralized process ownership and prepared HR and functional leads for new operating models, and the project was funded and initiated with external consulting support documented as part of the preparatory assessment.
