In 2018, UBS deployed SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as its ERP Financial platform. The implementation focused on supporting supplier and third party lifecycle management for sourcing events, contracting, payment and procurement. Scope included integration with UBS Supplier Management processes operating in the Zürich area of Switzerland, and targeted Accounts Payable and procurement business functions.
SAP ERP ECC 6.0 was configured to support Accounts Payable and invoicing workflows, procurement processing, and a centralized third party registry used for vendor master data and risk assessments. Configuration work emphasized supplier master governance, invoice to pay sequencing, and procurement requisition to purchase order processing aligned with ERP Financial controls.
The SAP ERP ECC 6.0 implementation was integrated with a landscape of third party systems explicitly named by UBS, including SAP Ariba and the Ariba Network for sourcing and contracting, SAP Fieldglass for contingent workforce workflows, an in house developed third party system, Coupa for procurement touchpoints, Markit KY3P for reference data, and SAP ECC R3 instances for transactional consistency. Integrations focused on replicating a central inventory of third party data across systems and on feeding invoice and payment information into the ERP Financial core.
Governance and process changes established a single source of truth for third party data, mandatory risk assessment registration for supplier onboarding, and cross system replication processes to protect the firm’s supplier data and reputation. Operational responsibility rested with Supplier Management and Accounts Payable teams, supported by formalized workflows to coordinate sourcing, contracting, payment and procurement across the connected systems.
