| UNIT4 | Legacy | Unit4 ERPx | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2021 | 2022 |
In 2021 Universiteit Twente selected Unit4 ERPx as its new financial system and classified the project under the ERP Financial category. The announcement states Unit4 ERPx will replace the university's current Oracle Financials installation and a large number of custom systems that are linked to it, consolidating nearly all financial processes into a single platform.
Configuration work focuses on core financial capabilities aligned with ERP Financial functionality, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, time recording, and expense declaration. Time registration and expense claim workflows currently handled in TAS and Declaree are being reimplemented inside Unit4 ERPx, while the renewed Purchase to Pay process running on Proactis will remain external to Unit4 ERPx.
The project team and supplier Unit4 have established a test environment for iterative development and validation of functionality, with careful testing and staged development cycles described as a priority. Integrations will include the set of custom systems currently linked to Oracle Financials and the retained Proactis Purchase to Pay solution, and the effort is organized through Finance functional management who will serve as the primary governance contact.
The original delivery date of 1 January 2022 was deferred after six months of inventory, analysis, and testing, and a new cutover date has not yet been set. The university framed the move to Unit4 ERPx as acquisition of a more modern, supported financial platform that restores vendor security updates and consolidates time and expense processing into the ERP Financial backbone.

In 2020 Universiteit Twente implemented Google Workspace (Formerly Google G-Suite) to support institutional Collaboration and productivity across academic and administrative functions. The deployment is described as an institution-wide Google Workspace (Formerly Google G-Suite) rollout covering core communication and collaboration use cases for faculty, staff, and student-facing services. Universiteit Twente Google Workspace (Formerly Google G-Suite) represents the central Collaboration platform referenced on the university website.
Configuration reflects standard Google Workspace functional modules, including Gmail for email routing, Google Drive for file storage and shared drives, Google Docs Sheets and Slides for collaborative document editing, Google Calendar for scheduling, and Google Meet for video collaboration. Administrative capabilities are managed through the Google Admin console and organizational units, enabling role based access controls, group management, and centralized policy application consistent with a Collaboration platform deployment.
Operational governance emphasizes centralized IT administration and organizational unit segmentation to align academic departments and administrative units with distinct configuration profiles. User lifecycle and account provisioning are managed within the Google Workspace administrative framework, and collaboration artifacts are surfaced in campus workflows and the public website where institutional collaboration links and calendars are published. This implementation narrative positions Google Workspace (Formerly Google G-Suite) as the university's primary Collaboration layer for communication and productivity.
