In 2019, Volkswagen Group Australia implemented SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central as its Core HR solution, migrating from Ascender PeopleStreme Core HR to centralize employee master data and HR processes. The deployment positioned SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central as the authoritative system of record for Core HR across national HR operations and integrated people management workflows.
The implementation encompassed configuration of core HR data models, organizational management, position and job structures, and standard employee lifecycle modules consistent with Core HR capabilities. SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central was configured alongside on boarding, rewards and recognition, learning management interfaces, payroll integration points, and reporting frameworks to support end to end HR processes and talent administration.
Integrations were explicitly implemented with payroll, LMS, R and R, on boarding and reporting systems, while outsourced payroll processing remained part of the operational model. The rollout supported HR functions including human resources operations, learning and development, talent and reward programs, organizational design and national payroll management, and served two business units under a centralized HR service approach.
Governance and process changes accompanied the technical rollout, with new organizational design and compensation frameworks created and executed, including annual remuneration alignment using a Korn Ferry based framework. Change management, restructures, redundancies and redeployments were managed through revised workflows, and HR compliance processes were updated to align employment legislation, awards and global policies with SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central records.
The program also drove learning and leadership capability initiatives, leveraging profiling frameworks such as 360, Hogan, HBDI and Clifton Strengths as part of the L and D strategy that was developed and rolled out in parallel. Reporting and global metrics capture were enabled through SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central to support HR analytics, stakeholder reporting and ongoing people and culture initiatives.
