In 2010, Yara UK implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 under an IBM-led globalization program to standardize core systems. The deployment was scoped to ERP Financial operations and focused on aligning finance control points with broader supply chain and HR processes.
The implementation configured SAP ERP ECC 6.0 modules MM, SD, PP, WM and HR, and deployed SAP BW for consolidated reporting and analytics. Functional workstreams emphasized material management, sales and distribution, production planning, warehouse management and human resources, with configuration aligned to financial master data and transactional controls.
Rollout coverage included Yara companies in the United Kingdom, Denmark and Norway, addressing finance, procurement, supply chain and HR functions at those sites. IBM provided program leadership while project management oversaw the technical upgrade from SAP R/3 4.7 to SAP ERP ECC 6.0 and coordinated cutover sequencing across countries.
Governance combined centralized coordination with module-level configuration governance and BW reporting standards, driven by a dedicated project manager responsible for the ECC 6.0 upgrade. The initiative sought to transform IT infrastructure to enable more efficient cost management and to create a platform for future innovation.

In 2015, Yara UK migrated SAP BW (Business Warehouse) as part of a Data Warehouse program that was executed alongside a broader SAP landscape move. The work targeted SAP BW (Business Warehouse) instances and related data provisioning to align the data warehouse footprint with a cloud and hyper-converged infrastructure strategy.
The implementation consolidated SAP BW onto Capgemini HCI and Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure, moving workloads across approximately 480 servers. Configuration and functional scope centered on standard Data Warehouse capabilities, including data modeling, ETL and data provisioning workflows, and reporting layers within SAP BW, integrated into the SAP S4 HANA and SAP ECC application landscape.
Integrations were executed with SAP PI, SAP MDM, and a large set of connected systems, specifically described as 240 non-SAP and SAP applications, plus banking interfaces. Change data capture and synchronization between source and target systems were handled using SharePlex, with collaboration noted with the Quest team to establish the replication topology and cutover sync.
Program governance emphasized team building and stakeholder management, with teams formed to fill capability gaps and business requirements gathered from business units to drive design. Deliverables included high level design and low level design documentation, and architected approaches to reduce downtime during migration and to mitigate integration risk.
