In 2017, Brandon University implemented Avanti HCM as its Core HR application, establishing Avanti HCM as the institutional system for human resources and payroll operations. The rollout tied the application to the university IT cost center that captures administrative and operational support for enterprise software.
Avanti HCM was configured to support standard Core HR capabilities including payroll processing, employee master data, benefits administration, and HR reporting, aligned with typical HRMS functional workflows. Configuration work included core module setup and the creation of specialized interfaces and custom development to meet institution specific requirements.
The institutional IT environment supporting Avanti HCM operates alongside a broader application estate that includes Diamond ERP, CityWorks for asset management, CityView for permitting, ESRI mapping, and Class for recreational bookings, and numerous other applications. The IT cost center performs custom development and interface maintenance, and maintains more than 350 desktop computers and laptops, over 100 servers, and over 300 VOIP phones on a complex Cisco based network with fibre optic and wireless links.
Governance for Avanti HCM is centralized within the IT department, which provides application lifecycle management, custom application development, website and social media maintenance for 25 plus corporate websites, and cross department support to internal stakeholders. The IT organization also supports critical operational endpoints and emergency services, ensuring the Core HR application is maintained as part of a broader institutional service delivery model.

In 2003 Coast Capital Savings implemented Avanti HCM to centralize Core HR functions for payroll and benefits administration. The initiative followed a managed RFP process in 2003 and 2004 and included selection of Avanti HCM, design, programming and data mapping to consolidate payroll and HR data originating in four separate payroll sources, while coordinating harmonization of payroll and benefit administration across three merged companies.
Avanti HCM was configured to support time collection, end to end payroll processing, accounting, reconciliation and budgeting workflows, and benefits design, communication and administration for flexible, traditional and retiree plans. The deployment encompassed pension communication and administration for Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution GRSP plans, disability leave administration and leave of absence administration, enabling comprehensive Core HR case management across pay and benefits lifecycles.
Operationally the system has been maintained by a department of five staff managing payroll, benefits and pensions for more than 1800 employees. Integration work included implementation of the Kronos Time & Attendance system in 2005 with functional programming and end user training to feed time collection into Avanti HCM, and later 2014 work to enable national payroll processing after company acquisition.
Governance and rollout included program design, functional programming, data mapping, end user training and employee communications, and coordinated transfers of pay, benefit and pension administration for a business divestiture in 2013. The Avanti HCM deployment supported ongoing policy harmonization and flexible benefits program delivery implemented in 2007, and enabled national processing capabilities through centralized administration and staff procedures.

In 2009, Porter Airlines implemented Avanti HCM as its Core HR system. The Avanti HCM deployment centralized employee profile management and core HR workflows to support the People and Culture function at Porter Airlines, aligning system use with talent acquisition, onboarding, internal transfers, separations and employment verification processes.
Avanti HCM was used operationally to process candidate and new hire data, generate offer letters, prepare new hire packages, record training completion, and manage resignation processing, reflecting tasks performed by People and Culture coordinators who processed information through Avanti HCM. Functional modules and capabilities evident in the implementation include employee master data, onboarding and orientation workflows, talent acquisition support features, internal transfer processing and separations workflows, with process configuration to capture employment verification checks and training completion. Governance and operational ownership resided within People and Culture, which led system-driven new hire orientation and maintained HR records and onboarding workflows through Avanti HCM.
