Coda Coffee Company | Retail | 50 | $5M | United States | Bext Holdings | Bext360 Platform | Blockchain Platform | 2017 | n/a |
In 2017 Coda Coffee Company deployed the Bext360 Platform, a Blockchain Platform, in a pilot that used bextmachines to analyze, tokenize and trace coffee lots from washing stations to roast. The pilot began in November 2017 and ran in conjunction with Great Lakes Coffee in Uganda and Coda Coffee in Denver, establishing on-chain provenance records linked to physical lot identifiers.
The implementation combined the Bext360 Platform components with bextmachines instrumentation for lot-level measurement and tokenization, a blockchain-enabled traceability ledger for immutable stepwise custody, and QR-based consumer access to provenance records. Configuration focused on creating digital tokens at washing stations, recording chain of custody events through transport and roasting, and associating QR codes on limited run packaging to surface the ledger entries to end consumers.
Operational coverage spanned washing stations, field processing points and the Denver roasting site, and introduced workflows for on-device measurement, token issuance, and QR packaging linkage. The pilot produced what Bext360 described as the world’s first blockchain-traced coffee and the limited run was made available for purchase in April 2018, demonstrating end-to-end provenance and consumer-facing QR access to records.

Counter Culture Coffee, Inc | Consumer Packaged Goods | 100 | $10M | United States | Bext Holdings | Bext360 Platform | Blockchain Platform | 2017 | n/a |
In 2017, Counter Culture Coffee, Inc implemented the Bext360 Platform, a Blockchain Platform from Bext Holdings. The implementation was part of Bext360's wider 2017 to 2018 rollout that Bext360 cited during its 2018 seed funding announcement, and Counter Culture Coffee was named among commercial partners for the initiative.
The Bext360 Platform deployment combined distributed ledger recording with integrated IoT data capture and machine vision traceability to create tamper resistant provenance records for specialty coffee. Bext360 Platform was configured to capture traceability events and ingest sensor telemetry and visual quality data, aligning with common Blockchain Platform capabilities such as immutable provenance, timestamping of events, and auditable event chains.
Integrations explicitly referenced in the engagement included IoT devices and machine vision systems to instrument the sourcing supply chain, and the operational coverage targeted specialty coffee sourcing across Europe and North America. The implementation addressed core sourcing and supply chain business functions at Counter Culture Coffee, Inc by enabling lot level traceability from origin through roaster touchpoints.
Governance and rollout details indicate implementation activity in 2017 with a public commercial rollout by 2018, per Bext360 communications. The program was positioned to deliver supply chain transparency for specialty coffee, with traceability workflows and provenance recording governed through the blockchain ledger and instrumented for sourcing team audits.

Kering SA | Consumer Packaged Goods | 44627 | $18.9B | France | Bext Holdings | Bext360 Platform | Blockchain Platform | 2020 | n/a |
In 2020 Kering SA deployed the Bext360 Platform, a Blockchain Platform, as part of an Organic Cotton Traceability Pilot. The pilot was executed in partnership with the C&A Foundation, the Organic Cotton Accelerator and Fashion for Good, and supported by C&A, Zalando, PVH Corp and the Kering Group.
The implementation focused on traceability and measurable sustainability for organic cotton, leveraging Bext360 Platform SaaS capabilities to create a traceable fingerprint from producer to consumer. At Kering the current phase traces organic cotton from farms to the gin for processing, with second and third phases planned to extend tracing from gin to consumer and then scale the approach across fashion industry supply chains.
Architecturally the deployment uses the Bext360 Platform distributed ledger and provenance recording capabilities, combined with data capture at farm and processing touch points and measurement modules for quantifiable sustainability reporting. Functional workflows implemented include provenance registration, transaction level trace records, and measurement and reporting for sustainability metrics, aligned with supply chain and sourcing operations.
Governance for the pilot is structured around multi stakeholder collaboration between brands, foundations and industry accelerators, with phased rollout controls that prioritize trace continuity from farm to gin before downstream extension. Operationally the program impacts sourcing, sustainability, and supply chain traceability functions, and positions the Bext360 Platform Blockchain Platform to support broader commodity coverage including coffee, seafood, timber, minerals, cotton and palm oil.
