Carousell Pte Ltd | Retail | 675 | $157M | Singapore | Cloudflare | Cloudflare WAF | Web Application Firewalls (WAF) | 2016 | n/a |
In 2016, Carousell Pte Ltd implemented Cloudflare WAF, deploying Web Application Firewalls (WAF) technology from Cloudflare to protect its public marketplace properties. The initial deployment targeted public sites and image delivery across Southeast Asia to support flash sales and high concurrency traffic patterns.
The implementation combined Cloudflare WAF with the vendor CDN, caching and DNS to scale content delivery and reduce origin load. Functional capabilities implemented included HTTP request inspection and rule based threat blocking at the edge, image caching to the CDN, and global DNS resolution to lower latency for regional users.
Operationally the Cloudflare WAF and associated CDN and caching layer enabled Carousell to serve more than 1 PB per month of images and to absorb traffic spikes exceeding three times the normal baseline while maintaining site availability and blocking application threats. Coverage focused on marketplace web traffic and image delivery, supporting customer facing functions such as listing browsing and transaction flow. Governance and rollout centered on edge rule configuration and cache policies to align protection and performance for flash sales and heavy image traffic.

Jin Air Co | Transportation | 533 | $85M | South Korea | Cloudflare | Cloudflare WAF | Web Application Firewalls (WAF) | 2022 | MegazoneCloud |
In 2022, Jin Air Co implemented Cloudflare WAF as part of a broader deployment of Cloudflare Application Services to protect its ticketing and online sales channels. The deployment targeted Jin Air's online booking infrastructure in South Korea and implemented Cloudflare WAF under the Web Application Firewalls (WAF) category following a proof of concept with Cloudflare and local systems integrator MegazoneCloud.
The implementation included Cloudflare WAF and Bot Management modules, configured to block automated booking bots and SQL injection attempts at the application layer. Policies combined rule based WAF protections and bot mitigation to inspect HTTP traffic and enforce challenge or block actions for malicious requests, aligning protection with application level threat models.
The rollout integrated with Jin Air's online booking flows and web storefront, routing site traffic through Cloudflare's edge for inspection and mitigation. Operational coverage focused on reservations and e-commerce business functions, with MegazoneCloud responsible for local implementation, policy tuning, and production cutover coordination.
Jin Air completed a proof of concept prior to full deployment and instituted governance processes for ongoing rule tuning and monitoring. Post deployment metrics reported elimination of 99.96% of problem bot traffic and a reduction in bot related bandwidth of approximately 51 percent, outcomes Jin Air cited as improving booking accuracy and reducing costs.

Rise Search | Professional Services | 10 | $2M | United States | Cloudflare | Cloudflare WAF | Web Application Firewalls (WAF) | 2023 | n/a |
In 2023, Rise Search implemented Cloudflare WAF as its Web Application Firewalls (WAF) solution to protect public web properties and client-facing portals. The Cloudflare WAF deployment is positioned to secure HTTP and HTTPS traffic at Cloudflare's edge network, establishing perimeter policy enforcement for the company’s small professional services footprint in the United States.
The Cloudflare WAF configuration focused on standard Web Application Firewalls (WAF) capabilities, including managed rule sets, custom rule authoring, bot mitigation, rate limiting, SSL/TLS enforcement, and virtual patching workflows. The implementation emphasized lightweight administration and policy tuning to match a 10 employee operating model, with logging and alerting configured to feed security operations and incident response processes.
Rise Executive Search also launched and adopted Clockwork’s executive-search CRM and Client Portal in 2023, running C-suite retained searches and giving clients visibility into search status. The Clockwork adoption is reported to improve search cycle times, with searches closing in as few as 63 days, while Cloudflare WAF provides the application layer protection for the firm’s web assets and client portals.
