Boliden | Oil, Gas and Chemicals | 5364 | $7.5B | Sweden | DycoTrade | DycoTrade CTRM | CTRM | 2017 | n/a |
In 2017, Boliden selected DycoTrade CTRM and Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Operations to administer its business processes. Boliden implemented DycoTrade CTRM, a CTRM application, to centralize commodity trading and risk management functions across its metals mining, smelting, production and trade operations in Sweden and other countries.
The DycoTrade CTRM deployment uses DycoTrade's latest release which is built on Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Operations, formerly Microsoft Dynamics AX, providing a fully integrated configuration with the ERP platform. Functional scope focuses on commodity trading and risk management modules, with configuration work to align CTRM workflows with Dynamics 365 finance and operational process models.
Integration architecture centers on Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Operations as the core ERP, with DycoTrade CTRM embedded to exchange transactional trade, positions and risk data within the ERP footprint. The worldwide rollout is executed with a Nordic implementation partner, while DycoTrade staff are limitedly involved to provide domain expertise for the Commodity Trading and Risk managing software.
The scale of the implementation has produced a longer running project schedule, creating opportunities for Microsoft and DycoTrade to enhance DycoTrade CTRM during the engagement as platform changes occur. DycoTrade characterized the agreement as a great win for both Boliden and DycoTrade, positioning the CTRM implementation to centralize trading and risk management alongside Dynamics 365 based operational controls.
