Coast Capital Savings Banking and Financial Services 1800 $349M Canada Equinix Equinix Fabric Application Hosting and Computing Services 2018 n/a
In 2018 Coast Capital Savings deployed Equinix Fabric as part of its Application Hosting and Computing Services to establish active active connectivity between on premises environments and AWS using Equinix Fabric ports and Direct Connect. Equinix Fabric was positioned to support banking platform operations and network resiliency across three data centers while enabling higher bandwidth and redundant paths for critical services. The implementation integrated network centric capabilities such as Network as a Service for automated VLAN and routing provisioning, Firewall as a Service using automated rule generation, and programmatic VPN provisioning to partner networks. Equinix Fabric was configured alongside SDWAN VeloCloud for branch connectivity; 54 branches and offices were migrated off MPLS in four months, and Global Protect gateways were deployed across AWS and three data centers to enable remote access for over 2500 team members. Auto failover and active active AWS connectivity was implemented using BGP and IPSEC overlay across Direct Connect and Equinix Fabric ports. Automation and DevOps were central to the rollout, with Infrastructure as Code for on premises and AWS environments delivered via AWX, Ansible Tower, Python and Django, Jenkins for CI CD pipelines, and Git for version control. The team created entity relation diagrams for the automation toolset and developed Django RDF APIs to interoperate with XSOAR and other internal applications, while programmatic integration with ServiceNow enabled creation and approval of change requests for network changes. Network operations and banking platform teams used QA, DEV, PrePROD and PROD environments in the deployment model. Operational governance included regular workshops and training for network, infrastructure and security teams, weekly automation sessions, and quarterly requirement and status reviews with ExCo, VPs and Directors. The program was managed within an approximate yearly OPEX budget of 2.5 million and included documented processes for multi vendor datacenter operations using Arista, Cisco and Palo Alto technologies for patching, maintenance and security.
FuseForward Solutions Group Professional Services 45 $5M Canada Equinix Equinix Fabric Application Hosting and Computing Services 2017 n/a
In 2017, FuseForward Solutions Group implemented Equinix Fabric as a core interconnection and private connectivity layer within its Application Hosting and Computing Services footprint. The Equinix Fabric deployment was incorporated into the companys managed cloud operations to enable programmatic provisioning and private multi-cloud interconnects for hosted workloads. The deployment architecture emphasized virtual fabric provisioning, connectivity orchestration and API-driven provisioning to support rapid establishment of private circuits and peering between colocation and cloud endpoints. Functional capabilities implemented included connectivity orchestration for Proof of Concept and Proof of Presence evaluations, service provisioning workflows, and operational documentation and runbooks maintained by the Cloud Operations Manager. Integrations were explicitly governed with Equinix Cloud Fabric for IaaS and PaaS connectivity performance, AWS monitoring via CloudWatch, observability through Kibana, and internal collaboration and toolchains such as O365, SharePoint, Jira, MSP platforms and UEM. Operational coverage spanned service delivery and operations management across DevOps, SysOps, SecOps and Software Engineering teams, with deployment and support activities across the US, UK and South Africa for Fortune 500 customers. Governance and process controls centered on ITSM practice for incident triage, capacity management and continual process improvement, overseen by a Change Authority Board for key accounts and aligned to SLA and compliance requirements. Security and compliance stewardship included ISO 27001 internal audits, and day to day operational oversight combined team management with tooling governance while Equinix Fabric was embedded into the broader IaaS and PaaS governance model.
