Bystrup Maskinsnedkeri Denmark | Manufacturing | 10 | $1M | Denmark | Hexagon | Hexagon Alphacam PLM | Product Lifecycle Management | 2015 | Oestjydsk CAD-CAM |
In 2015, Bystrup Maskinsnedkeri Denmark deployed Hexagon Alphacam PLM as a Product Lifecycle Management implementation to drive CAM programming for precision woodworking and museum exhibit fabrication. The project focused on using ALPHACAM Ultimate to program 5 axis machining for historically accurate Viking era furniture and carved pillars produced for the Sagnlandet Lejre museum.
Configuration centered on ALPHACAM Ultimate CAM capabilities, including multi axis toolpath generation, simulation and post processing, with parameter sets tuned to achieve tolerances around ±0.3 mm. Functional workflows implemented covered program generation for complex toolpaths, fixture-aware machining sequences and shopfloor ready NC output tailored to large scale woodcarving production.
The Denmark rollout was delivered with reseller support from Oestjydsk CAD-CAM, which managed deployment, onsite configuration and operator training to shift programming responsibilities to the Alphacam environment. Hexagon Alphacam PLM centralized CAM programming at Bystrup Maskinsnedkeri and delivered cost effective advanced woodcarving while improving productivity for museum exhibit work and meeting the specified precision requirements.

Finedie South Korea | Professional Services | 10 | $1M | South Korea | Hexagon | Hexagon Alphacam PLM | Product Lifecycle Management | 2020 | n/a |
In 2020, Finedie South Korea implemented Hexagon Alphacam PLM. The company purchased additional ALPHACAM licences during the COVID-19 surge to speed up programming of rotary and engraving dies for face-mask production, explicitly accelerating CAM throughput for critical manufacturing runs.
Hexagon Alphacam PLM was configured to accelerate CAM programming workflows, enabling faster toolpath generation and machining preparation for rotary and engraving die production. The deployment emphasized CAM programming modules and production machining orchestration consistent with Product Lifecycle Management functional patterns, including program templating and automated toolpath output.
The manufacturing CAM deployment was executed in South Korea and supported die production for medical and consumer product customers, improving production capacity and machining consistency across shop floor operations. Operational coverage included CAM programming, NC code generation, and machine preparation for die making and engraving workflows.
Reported outcomes included CAM programming time reductions of up to 30 percent and total machining time reductions of approximately 10 percent, outcomes that were directly associated with the additional ALPHACAM licences and faster programming during the pandemic. Hexagon Alphacam PLM served as the Product Lifecycle Management application central to Finedie South Korea’s CAM and die production workflows.

Howarth Timber Group | Distribution | 1021 | $361M | United Kingdom | Hexagon | Hexagon Alphacam PLM | Product Lifecycle Management | 2011 | n/a |
In 2011, Howarth Timber Group implemented Hexagon Alphacam PLM within its manufacturing CAD CAM environment at the Humber Windows & Doors site, recorded as Windows & Doors LTD Humber Bank East Barrow-upon-Humber DN19 7RT. The deployment targeted Product Lifecycle Management for shop floor program creation and machining strategy orchestration, aligning the Alphacam CAD module with CNC programming workflows.
The implementation used Hexagon Alphacam PLM to replicate CAD and CAM drawings from paper into the Alphacam CAD software, apply machining strategies to parts, and convert processed drawings into NC code. Operators and programmers performed NC code edits using editor software installed on the machines, and manual NC code adjustments were part of the standard machining preparation process prior to production runs.
Operationally the system fed NC code to the site CNC controllers and supported two CNC machines under the supervision of the CNC lead expert. The scope of use was concentrated on production and CNC programming functions at the Humber site, with daily activities including program validation, machine setup, and machine operation driven by Alphacam generated code.
Governance centered on shop floor control by a CNC lead, who ensured programs were correct and executed properly on both machines, maintained the machine editor workflow, and managed the handoff from CAD CAM programming to production execution. Hexagon Alphacam PLM served as the central Product Lifecycle Management application for the CNC programming to machine execution lifecycle at the site.
