CEZ | Utilities | 28000 | $15.1B | Czech Republic | Hexagon | Hexagon HxGN dC3 LidarVision | 3D Modeling | 2020 | ABBAS Czech Republic |
In 2020, CEZ deployed Hexagon HxGN dC3 LidarVision at its Temelín and Dukovany nuclear power plants to establish volumetric LiDAR perimeter protection against drones and airborne threats. The Hexagon HxGN dC3 LidarVision application within the 3D Modeling category was used to provide continuous 3D point cloud generation, classification and detection capabilities to support perimeter security operations.
The deployment leveraged Accur8vision based volumetric LiDAR perimeter protection mapped to HxGN dC3 LidarVision following Hexagon product renaming, implementing sensor data ingestion, 3D point cloud processing, object classification, geofencing and event triggering. Configuration focused on automated detection and response workflows that feed security procedures, enabling persistent situational awareness across plant airspace and immediate alerting for airborne incursions.
ABBAS, a.s. served as the systems integrator for site level installation and solution commissioning at both Temelín and Dukovany. Operational scope centered on plant security and control room operations, with governance activities covering commissioning, operational handover and integration of automated response procedures. The reported outcome of the implementation was improved situational awareness and enabled automated responses to airborne threats.

EG.D | Utilities | 1962 | $734M | Czech Republic | Hexagon | Hexagon HxGN dC3 LidarVision | 3D Modeling | 2025 | n/a |
In 2025, EG.D deployed Hexagon HxGN dC3 LidarVision for a pilot substation security project. The deployment uses Hexagon HxGN dC3 LidarVision in the 3D Modeling category to introduce volumetric detection, real time tracking and digital twin capabilities for transformer substations managed by EG.D.
The implementation is based on a multi-sensor architecture, using five strategically placed LiDAR sensors to create continuous volumetric coverage of the site. HxGN dC3 LidarVision is configured to define virtual secure, safe and sterile zones that can be activated or deactivated through the user interface, enabling temporary suspension of detection in maintenance work areas while keeping other zones live. The solution performs person counting, precise position tracking, movement speed and direction analysis and projected trajectory modeling as core functional capabilities.
Operational integration includes a live, real time feed into EG.Ds security control room and augmentation with PTZ cameras, alarms and speaker systems for layered response. The implementation produces a digital twin or interactive 3D representation of each substation to support sensor placement optimization and virtual scenario testing, and it can be extended with thermal sensors and cameras for temperature monitoring and early fire detection. These integrations support both routine security monitoring and pre deployment risk analysis through simulated scenarios.
Governance for the pilot involved close collaboration between EG.D and Hexagon across design, pilot operation and evaluation phases, with EG.D reporting positive operational feedback. Following the pilot success, EG.D and Hexagon are working on plans to roll out HxGN dC3 LidarVision to additional energy facilities across the grid, while sharing implementation learnings with other national energy operators in the United States and the Asia Pacific region.

Sprava zeleznic | Construction and Real Estate | 17282 | $280M | Czech Republic | Hexagon | Hexagon HxGN dC3 LidarVision | 3D Modeling | 2020 | CD - Telematika Czech Republic |
In 2020, Sprava zeleznic deployed Hexagon HxGN dC3 LidarVision at the Březno railway tunnel in the Czech Republic. The implementation uses LiDAR-based 3D surveillance capabilities within the 3D Modeling category to deliver volumetric intrusion detection and high-precision localization for tunnel-portal protection.
The deployed Hexagon HxGN dC3 LidarVision configuration includes volumetric intrusion detection logic, position-level localization to pinpoint intrusions, and automatic PTZ camera piloting to direct optical sensors to detected events. The solution was previously referenced in project materials as Accur8vision and is represented in vendor naming as HxGN dC3 LidarVision for this rollout.
Delivery and installation were executed by CD Telematika Czech Republic, which installed the LiDAR sensor array and integrated camera control for automatic PTZ actuation. Operational coverage is focused on the Březno tunnel portals and the immediate tunnel ingress zones, aligning system outputs with on-site security and infrastructure operations workflows.
Governance was structured around the rail infrastructure owner, with CD Telematika responsible for delivery and handover to Sprava zeleznic operational teams. The implementation provided explicit capabilities of volumetric intrusion detection, precise localization, and automatic PTZ camera piloting to improve tunnel-portal protection.
