In 2022, Enthusiast Gaming Holdings Inc. deployed Hut 8 as its Application Hosting and Computing Services to provide hosting and infrastructure for its gaming, esports, and Web 3.0 initiatives. In 2022, Jolera implemented Hut 8 as its Application Hosting and Computing Services during a new data centre build in North Bay, Ontario. The engagement was executed from May 2022 to July 2022 with a Communications Lead supervising a seven person team responsible for onsite planning and deployment. The project scope covered physical construction site work and data centre fit out, with acquired construction compliance certificates recorded during delivery.
The implementation focused on provisioning a production network fabric and supporting infrastructure for Hut 8. Network configuration and equipment deployment included two firewalls, two core switches, twelve aggregate switches and 220 access switches, together with full Ethernet and fiber optic cabling installation. These elements were implemented to establish perimeter security, core and aggregation layers, and extensive access layer connectivity consistent with Application Hosting and Computing Services.
Operational coverage was localized to the North Bay data centre site and targeted network operations, data centre operations and service delivery functions. Project execution included documented logistics throughout the build and hands on configuration work, ensuring that network topology, physical cable management and equipment staging aligned with hosting requirements. There were no named systems integrated beyond the deployed infrastructure components documented in the project notes.
Governance and rollout followed a staged onsite deployment model with the Communications Lead accountable for planning, configuration and deployment tasks. Handover activities emphasized operational ownership by Jolera’s network and service delivery teams, with documentation produced to support ongoing operations and maintenance for the Hut 8 Application Hosting and Computing Services implementation.
