Shenkman Capital Management Banking and Financial Services 141 $30M United States S&P Global IHS Markit Enterprise Data Management Professional Services 2020 n/a
In 2020, Shenkman Capital Management implemented IHS Markit Enterprise Data Management from S&P Global to centralize reference data and strengthen portfolio accounting data flows. The deployment is recorded under Professional Services and targeted investment operations, portfolio management, trading, and reporting business functions. Phase one of the engagement delivered explicit master data capabilities, including an IVP Security Master implementation and reconfiguration of the Geneva portfolio accounting system. The program also enhanced attribution and benchmark functionality by integrating Rimes and S&P IQ feeds and improved front office integration to support securities setup and strategy configuration workflows. The initial assessment covered an environment that included Advent Geneva, Markit EDM, WSO, Thinkfolio and a proprietary data warehouse, and the implementation work focused on orchestration between those systems and IHS Markit Enterprise Data Management. Integrations emphasized automated reference data provisioning to Geneva and stronger feed governance for Rimes and S&P IQ, enabling more consistent inter system communication across trading and reporting paths. Governance changes included defining data governance policies and operational workflows to underpin master data management and end of day processes. Documented outcomes from the project included improved data integrity and governance, time savings in securities and strategy setup, reduced manual steps in end of day and attribution processes, increased transparency in straight through processes, reduced ongoing cost of ownership including licensing and maintenance, and a more open platform foundation for expanded portfolio management and reporting capabilities.
TD Securities Banking and Financial Services 6500 $2.0B Canada S&P Global IHS Markit Enterprise Data Management Professional Services 2018 n/a
In 2018, TD Securities implemented IHS Markit Enterprise Data Management to support Risk Management, regulatory MIFID changes and Capital Markets trading workflows, with the project categorized in Professional Services. The engagement was centered on trade reference data and master golden copy consolidation to meet regulatory and risk data requirements for fixed income, equity and derivatives products. The implementation configured the CADIS-MarkIT EDM solution in version 10.x and delivered MarkIT-EDM components for trade reference data resolution, master data consolidation and ISIN based real time monitoring. Development work included REST API microservices built with Java and Spring Boot, Python automation for ANNA DSB processing, and a Big Data securities master data store implemented on NoSQL Cassandra to support high-volume master data analytics. Microservices and APIs were deployed to a Cloudify cloud environment and integrated into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Maven and GitHub, while Splunk provided centralized logging and JIRA managed issue and release tracking. Explicit data integrations included automated ingestion of ANNA DSB files into a NoSQL DB and downstream delivery of cleansed trade and master reference data to Risk Management applications, supporting analytics of client trade inputs and golden copy analysis. Project governance combined DevOps and Agile Scrum practices, with a senior consultant creating DevOps processes, CI/CD orchestration, monthly build and release management, system testing and production issue resolution. Technical and functional documentation was produced to operationalize the MarkIT-EDM solution and to support ongoing automation and rollout across trading desks, risk teams and regulatory program stakeholders at TD Securities.
