Fresh Express | Consumer Packaged Goods | 2500 | $730M | United States | Infor | Infor Yard Management | Yard Management | 2018 | n/a |
In 2018 Fresh Express implemented Infor Yard Management. The Infor Yard Management deployment targeted corporate offices and the companys five manufacturing plants in North America, positioning the application to support yard operations that feed manufacturing and distribution workflows.
The implementation focused on core Yard Management capabilities such as gate control and check in and check out, trailer staging and tracking, appointment and dock scheduling, and real time yard visibility. Configuration work emphasized operational workflows that coordinate inbound and outbound trailer movements with dock assignments and staging lanes, and included mobile and web interfaces developed using Profound Logic and ILE RPG expertise held by the internal applications team.
Infor Yard Management was integrated into the companys ERP landscape and transportation orchestration, and it exchanged operational data with demand planning and the enterprise data warehouse used for BI reporting. Reporting and analytics flows tied yard events into MicroStrategy and PowerBI pipelines, and the yard solution interoperated with wireless device networks and mobile apps used by yard operators.
Operational governance for the Infor Yard Management rollout was managed by the IT Applications organization, with a core team of five plus engineers providing application support and ongoing configuration. Implementation coordination involved cross functional teams responsible for Security, Network, Databases, Wireless Devices, and Help Desk to align support, user access, and operational processes across Corporate Functions, Demand Planning, Sourcing, Manufacturing, General Ledger, and Sales and Distribution.

Georgia-Pacific Packaging & Cellulose | Manufacturing | 120 | $20M | United States | Infor | Infor Yard Management | Yard Management | 2023 | n/a |
In 2023 Georgia-Pacific Packaging & Cellulose implemented Infor Yard Management as part of a broader Infor CloudSuite multi-tenant deployment powered by the Infor M3 ERP core platform. The initial phase of the rollout incorporated Supply Chain Planning, Enterprise Performance Management, Factory Track and Yard Management to serve the mill-based Cellulose business and connected offices and warehouses internationally.
Infor Yard Management was configured alongside M3 and associated edge applications to support order management, customer experience, supply chain and accounting workflows. The Yard Management deployment was provisioned to provide standard yard control capabilities aligned with the Yard Management category, including yard check in and check out, trailer staging and visibility into dock appointment sequencing to support mill shipping operations.
The solution integration pattern centers on M3 as the single source of truth with edge applications providing functional coverage, enabling end to end order visibility through a web enabled partner portal and state of the art sales, services and e commerce automation. The Cellulose rollout covered four large pulp mills operating 24/7, the headquarters office in Atlanta and international offices in Switzerland, Uruguay and China, and linked to the companys network of 24 international and 33 domestic external warehouses, while maintaining scheduled production without disruption.
Governance changes included consolidation of disparate processes into a common platform and establishment of centers of excellence to align order to cash, customer service and fulfillment processes. The program calls for retirement of more than 90 percent of previously in use applications and a phased rollout approach with a subsequent phase planned for the Containerboard business covering additional mills and warehouses.
Stated outcomes include an enhanced customer experience via improved end to end order visibility and predictability in fulfillment, a single source of truth for advanced analytics, and expected reductions in system complexity through the multi tenant cloud model which reduces hardware upgrade and maintenance overhead while enabling greater operational flexibility.
