In 2014, Inesing implemented JETCAM Expert as its Computer-Aided Design (CAD) application to centralize mechanical drawing and CAM preparation for its manufacturing operations. The deployment targeted the Casirate d'Adda site in Italy, supporting the mechanical design manager, CAD draftsman and production management roles within a 55 employee manufacturing organization.
JETCAM Expert was configured to support two dimensional CAD import and nesting, toolpath generation for punching and combined punching and shearing workflows, and NC output generation for shop floor equipment. The implementation ingested CAD data from existing design tools including Metal Designer, SolidWorks, SpaceClaim and MD3 to drive nesting and sheet optimization processes.
The environment generated NC programs for machine platforms referenced in internal documentation, including Finn-Power SG6 combined punching and shearing machines and Primapower Platino fiber laser equipment, and operated alongside CAM outputs used for laser cutting via Maestro. The system ran in concert with a Quasar-X management system and the site factory management system to support production documentation and transport document preparation for logistics and shop floor use.
Operational governance assigned CAD and CAM responsibilities to the mechanical design manager and production manager, with CAD draftsmen executing daily nesting and NC release workflows. The rollout emphasized standardized drawing to NC processes, formal handoff between engineering and production, and continuity of documentation across design and manufacturing functions.
