In 2015, GasLog worked with LoopUp to deploy on premises Skype for Business and to establish LoopUp as its Audio Video and Web Conferencing application to connect onshore offices and offshore vessel crews. The initial deployment addressed maritime conferencing needs with real time voice and video capabilities tailored to ship to shore communications.
LoopUp was later configured to provide LoopUp-managed Direct Routing into Microsoft Teams, creating standardized PSTN connectivity for Microsoft Teams endpoints across the fleet and shore sites. The implementation combined on premises Skype for Business infrastructure with a Teams Direct Routing overlay managed by LoopUp, and included conferencing scheduling, ad hoc calling and interoperability between Teams and vessel communications.
The rollout covered Greece and GasLog global operations, supporting more than 1,800 onshore and offshore staff and aligning communications across corporate IT, communications and operations functions. Operational scope included centralization of PSTN routing and cross site conferencing governance to ensure consistent call handling for maritime and shore users.
The LoopUp implementation improved connectivity for onshore and offshore users, accelerated remote collaboration during the COVID 19 period and standardized global PSTN routing under LoopUp-managed Direct Routing.
