Diversified Metal Services | Manufacturing | 20 | $5M | United States | Mastercam | Mastercam CNC Router | Computer-Aided Design (CAD) | 2019 | n/a |
In 2019, Diversified Metal Services implemented Mastercam CNC Router in its Computer-Aided Design (CAD) environment. The deployment centered on CAM preparation and programming workflows to support production of large format and complex parts. Mastercam CNC Router was configured to prepare part files, program complex multiaxis toolpaths, and run Verify simulation to validate NC code. Configuration emphasized multiaxis CAM capabilities needed for the shop, specifically to program 5 axis waterjet machining and 5 axis routers. Operational coverage included CAM programming and shop floor production across aerospace, medical, architectural, and signage work, with programmed toolpaths exported as machine specific post processed outputs to the CNC controllers. The United States implementation improved throughput and accuracy on large format and complex jobs by leveraging Verify simulation to prevent collisions and optimize toolpaths, Verify simulation was used to reduce collision risk during multiaxis operations and to streamline production handoff from CAM to CNC.

Fibreworks Composites | Manufacturing | 250 | $30M | United States | Mastercam | Mastercam CNC Router | Computer-Aided Design (CAD) | 2012 | Sandvik |
In 2012, Fibreworks Composites implemented Mastercam CNC Router to bring tooling, mold, and part machining in-house and accelerate production of composite racing components. The Mastercam CNC Router deployment is a Computer-Aided Design (CAD) implementation focused on manufacturing and trimming for composites in the United States, procured alongside a 3-axis router with Sandvik as the reseller.
The implementation concentrated on 3-axis routing and CAM toolpath programming capabilities typical of Mastercam, including NC code generation and shop floor post-processing to support composite tooling and part machining workflows. Integration with CATIA was established to enable direct geometry transfer from CAD to CAM, reducing manual rework during toolpath preparation and supporting coordinated tooling and mold machining.
Operational scope centered on the Mooresville, North Carolina production site and targeted manufacturing, trimming, tooling, mold and secondary operations on composite parts. The program centralized in-house machining capacity, introduced standardized CNC programming and shop handoff workflows, and restructured part production sequencing to shorten external procurement dependencies.
The project delivered faster turnarounds, CATIA integration, and improved secondary-operation efficiency for Fibreworks Composites, enabling tighter coordination between design and machining for composite racing parts.
