Amdocs | Professional Services | 29058 | $5.0B | United States | Microsoft | Microsoft Azure Arc | Apps Development | 2022 | n/a |
In 2022 Amdocs implemented Microsoft Azure Arc to extend centralized management and governance across on-premises and multi-cloud infrastructure as part of its Apps Development platform. The deployment was oriented toward platform engineering, cloud operations, and application development teams to provide unified policy orchestration and consistent infrastructure control.
The implementation used Microsoft Azure Arc to register and manage Azure Kubernetes Service clusters and on-prem resources, with Azure Policy applied through Arc for centralized compliance enforcement. Kubernetes engineering workstreams designed self-healing AKS clusters using KEDA for event-driven autoscaling tied to Azure Event Hubs, and migrated monolithic applications into Docker containerized microservices orchestrated by Kubernetes.
CI CD and release automation were implemented using ArgoCD to establish GitOps practices, complemented by Azure DevOps pipelines for build and release tasks, enabling declarative infrastructure, automated rollbacks, and environment consistency. Network and runtime security were enhanced by deploying Cilium to enforce Layer 7 policies using eBPF, and stateful application storage was provisioned with Azure NetApp Files to support low latency and scalable persistent volumes in AKS clusters.
Cost and operational governance included integration with Azure Cost Management and Billing, with Azure Functions used to run anomaly detection workflows for preemptive cost monitoring. Governance changes centered on centralized policy enforcement via Microsoft Azure Arc and GitOps-driven workflows, delivering ensured compliance, dynamic scaling of event-driven workloads, streamlined deployments, and consistent runtime security across on-premises and multi-cloud estates.

KPMG Japan | Professional Services | 6317 | $800M | Japan | Microsoft | Microsoft Azure Arc | Apps Development | 2021 | n/a |
In 2021, KPMG Japan implemented Microsoft Azure Arc through KPMG Ignition Tokyo to enable Cloud Next, a low-cost secure cloud for hosting client digital solutions. The deployment focused on Apps Development workflows to provide a single pane of glass for managing sensitive data workloads that cannot be placed in public clouds while preserving cloud benefits such as automation and elastic scale.
The implementation configured Microsoft Azure Arc with Azure Arc enabled data services and Azure Arc enabled Kubernetes as core functional capabilities. KPMG used Kubernetes on their hardware of choice to run data services on-premises or in multicloud settings, and instrumented automation and elastic scaling patterns consistent with cloud-native Apps Development practices.
Operational coverage included KPMG Ignition Tokyo and KPMG Japan client engagements, with distribution of solutions and workloads across multiple clouds and datacenters to support client environments and 24/7 support for hosted digital solutions. The architecture emphasized platform-agnostic management, enabling KPMG to apply Azure innovation on any on-premises infrastructure or multicloud environment while keeping sensitive workloads on customer premises when required.
Governance and delivery shifted toward centralized operational control, with a single pane of glass management model and platform-agnostic support processes to standardize deployment and runbook execution across sites. As stated by Aram Lauxtermann, Director of Cloud, KPMG, "With Azure Arc, we are able to distribute solutions and workloads across multiple clouds and datacenters to support our clients," and KPMG is using Microsoft Azure Arc to help customers move out of the datacenter and into the cloud.
