Marathon Oil | Oil, Gas and Chemicals | 1681 | $6.4B | United States | Quorum Labs | myQuorum Land | Geology and Seismic Data Processing | 2015 | n/a |
In 2015, Marathon Oil implemented myQuorum Land within its Geology and Seismic Data Processing environment to support centralized land data consumption and document processing. The deployment was integrated into Marathon’s internally developed Lagniappe application, which served as the central viewing, generation, tracking, and processing layer for land documents and related workflows.
Implementation modules included self service document management with bulk load and extraction for acquisitions and divestitures, automated creation and barcoding of Business Associate, Division Order Packet, and Production Sharing Agreement forms, and a shared land and accounting new well setup workflow to ensure master data accuracy. The environment also included division order mail task processing workflows that guide and track users through prescribed steps, and persona based dashboards for users, team leads, and managers to balance workloads across the land organization.
The myQuorum Land implementation was integrated with Quorum Land QLS, QDO and E-Suite, SAP PRA, OpenText, Thomson Reuters Document Intelligence ThoughtTrace, Enverus EnergyLink Owner Relations Portal, and P2 Tobin Land Suite for extraction and conversion work. Integration flows enabled owner self service address and ACH changes to move into Quorum E-Suite, management of suspended funds in SAP PRA, preservation of key documents in OpenText, and searchable document text across platforms through ThoughtTrace, while conversion and data loading efforts supported acquisitions in the Permian, Anadarko and Eagle Ford basins totaling over 5.7 billion dollars.
Governance and process rework centered on workflow automation, barcode based tracking for returned form processing, and shared operational processes between land and accounting to reduce exceptions and improve transparency. The combined myQuorum Land and Lagniappe architecture was explicitly credited with simplifying processes and improving staff efficiencies, saving an estimated 16,800 hours per year, while also aiming to reduce regulatory, inaccurate payment, and audit exception risks.

Ovintiv, Inc | Professional Services | 1713 | $8.7B | United States | Quorum Labs | myQuorum Land | Geology and Seismic Data Processing | 2016 | n/a |
In 2016 Ovintiv, Inc implemented myQuorum Land to support Geology and Seismic Data Processing oriented workflows within its land administration function, with deployment emphasis on structured lease data capture and document management. The implementation was positioned to centralize lease and title information used by lease analysts and to improve access to operational reports for engineering and management decision making.
myQuorum Land was configured to capture critical oil and gas lease attributes, ingest and index lease documents, and maintain audit trails for large volumes of records. Configuration work emphasized data validation workflows, document imaging and metadata capture, and reporting capabilities that produced operational reports used in asset decision making.
Operational use extended across Ovintiv’s Land Administration group, with lease analysts extracting and reconciling data from multiple document sources and internal feeds to populate the myQuorum Land database. Operational staff had prior experience maintaining and auditing data through P2 Land and Quorum Land Systems, and that background informed data ingestion rules and analyst training for myQuorum Land deployments.
Governance incorporated hands on training sessions for Land Administration staff and participation in cross functional policy efforts, including the 2020 Outlook Group which updated land administration policies after corporate merger activity. The system supported reporting used by engineers and management on multi million dollar assets, and a documented process change to electronic client payments produced a stated annual saving of over $75,000.
