Kajima | Construction and Real Estate | 21029 | $19.5B | Japan | NYK Systems | NYK Rebro | Building Information Modeling | 2017 | n/a |
In 2017 Kajima's Kansai branch deployed NYK Rebro in the Building Information Modeling category for the Obic Midosuji high rise project. The deployment followed basic design work in 2016 and coincided with construction start in May 2017, positioning NYK Rebro as the BIM capable equipment CAD to enable full design to FM BIM workflows in Japan.
Implementation focused on equipment modeling and BIM plotting, with configuration dedicated to equipment CAD workflows and coordination among trades. NYK Rebro was used to author detailed equipment models, generate BIM plots for construction documentation, and resolve equipment clashes through coordinated modeling. These functional capabilities aligned with common Building Information Modeling workflows for mechanical, electrical and plumbing coordination.
Rollout occurred at construction start in May 2017, with training delivered to contractor teams under the Kansai branch project organization. Operational scope was concentrated on the Obic Midosuji project and contractor execution teams, and the application was embedded into project delivery processes to produce coordinated BIM outputs. Governance included formal handover sequencing and documentation to support BIM to FM turnover.
The implementation improved equipment coordination and BIM plotting, and it supported BIM to FM handover as part of project closeout. NYK Rebro was positioned as the primary equipment CAD authoring tool for construction and facilities management deliverables on the Obic Midosuji project.

Obayashi Corporation | Professional Services | 15470 | $16.7B | Japan | NYK Systems | NYK Rebro | Building Information Modeling | 2016 | n/a |
In 2016, Obayashi Corporation standardized on NYK Rebro from NYK Systems as its equipment-design BIM/CAD, adopting the application to support a one-model Building Information Modeling strategy across design, construction and facilities management in Japan. NYK Rebro was selected as the new departmental standard for equipment design to align equipment-model authoring with downstream construction and facilities workflows.
The implementation emphasized equipment modeling capabilities, front-loading coordination, and lifecycle data integration, configuring NYK Rebro to generate equipment models enriched with lifecycle metadata. Functional focus areas included equipment-model authoring, provision of coordinated model deliverables for clash detection workflows, and embedding asset information to support later facilities management handover.
Integrations explicitly included model-level interoperability with Autodesk Revit, enabling exchange and synchronization between NYK Rebro equipment models and Revit-based design teams. Operational scope centered on the equipment design department and extended into design, construction and facilities management stakeholders across Obayashi operations in Japan, supporting one-model collaboration across project phases.
Governance oriented around adopting NYK Rebro as the equipment design standard to enforce single-model discipline and improve cross-discipline coordination and data handoff. The vendor case description identifies improved front-loading, coordination, and lifecycle data integration as the primary outcomes of the rollout.

Shin Nippon Air Technologies Co. | Construction and Real Estate | 1585 | $806M | Japan | NYK Systems | NYK Rebro | Building Information Modeling | 2022 | n/a |
In 2022, Shin Nippon Air Technologies Co. deployed NYK Rebro as part of a Building Information Modeling initiative to standardize on-site air conditioning design workflows. The NYK Rebro implementation targets modular construction coordination and verification activities for construction sites, with a focus on component diagrams and materials lists used in MEP planning.
The implementation emphasizes 3D CAD model validation, spatial placement checks, and preliminary estimation capabilities, using NYK Rebro to verify whether devices are properly placed, to support noise calculation checks, and to perform approximate calculations during the initial stage of renewal work planning. Functional scope includes generation and generalization of components diagrams and materials lists, and conversion of existing paper drawings into electronic data to enable simple air conditioning system design.
NYK Rebro is being used in direct collaboration with DK-BIM, the cloud-based air-conditioning design support system produced by Daikin Industries, Ltd., enabling model-to-model comparison between DK-BIM schematic outputs and NYK Rebro 3D CAD geometry for verification. The integration workflow is aligned with a modular construction method, enabling cross-checks between schematic drawings and detailed 3D models to validate layout, interfaces, and basic acoustic assessment for renewal planning.
Governance and rollout are focused on accelerating DX measures at construction sites, embedding electronic drawing conversion and model verification into site design review and early renewal planning processes. The program aims to streamline on-site operations and operationalize BIM-driven workflows for air conditioning system design and verification across Shin Nippon Air Technologies Co. construction projects.
