DOC Kaas | Consumer Packaged Goods | 230 | $30M | Netherlands | Onprove | Onprove MES | Manufacturing Execution System | 2022 | n/a |
In 2022 DOC Kaas implemented Onprove MES, a Manufacturing Execution System, to standardize shop floor operations for its cheese and whey production in the Netherlands and to support the cooperative objective of efficient production and customer oriented marketing. The implementation was scoped to DOC Kaas production operations and aligned with the cooperative model that adds value to member milk through sustainable production relationships, covering production, quality and planning roles across the business.
Onprove MES was configured with core manufacturing execution capabilities common to the Manufacturing Execution System category, including production scheduling and batch recipe management, real time shop floor data capture, electronic batch records and product traceability, and quality control workflows with statistical process control. The configuration emphasized recipe control for dairy formulations, lot tracking for whey and cheese, and operator terminals for batch execution and quality sampling.
Operational coverage focused on production, quality assurance, planning and logistics teams, as well as downstream commercial teams responsible for customer oriented marketing of finished cheese and whey products. Standardized production records and traceability outputs were instituted to ensure consistent information flow between shop floor operations and commercial reporting, supporting regulatory and customer information needs.
Governance and rollout followed a practical operationalization path with role based access controls, operator and quality staff training, and updated standard operating procedures to embed the system into daily workflows. Data governance centered on batch record integrity and traceability to align Onprove MES with DOC Kaas sustainability and cooperative commitments without changing previously named external systems.
