In 2023, G·Engineering implemented RoboDK as a Product Lifecycle Management application to add offline robotics simulation and programming capability to its engineering practice. RoboDK from Robok Machining was introduced to support industrial robot cell modeling, kinematic simulation, and offline program generation for robotic controllers.
Deployment focused on the engineering team at the Turin site, where RoboDK was used to create and validate robotic cells and toolpaths prior to physical commissioning. Functional usage included robot path simulation, collision checking, post processing for robot controllers, and offline programming workflows, complementing the company’s basic use of RobotStudio for cell layout and setup familiarization.
Operational rollout combined hands on configuration with mentor led training, evidenced by an internship in 2025 where an intern supported the company tutor in robotics simulation activities and gained first hand experience using RoboDK for offline simulations of industrial robots. Governance emphasized staged validation of simulated cells and role based access for engineering staff before moving simulations toward production trials.
